The Bronx is on its way back. Good middle and working class neighborhoods. Outstanding zoo and botanical gardens. Van Cortland Park in NW, may be largest in NYC with all kinds of seasonal activities and sports.

Lots of shops and eating options, Yankee Stadium within easy walking distance...and the 'Joker' steps within the area.

It looks run down and gang-infested. To some, it may loos scary, but it honestly was safe, walkable, and very homey. People were friendly, or they minded their own. Dont let appearances fool you. The markets were a bit expensive if you ask me.

Every time I visit I find nice restaurants that have authentic food and very kind and friendly staff and owners. It's not what most people hear about the area. But I am pleasantly surprised every time I visit.

It was my first experience in the Bronx. Not that I didn't feel safe but I wouldn't have walked at night. Otherwise, there was lots of trashs in the streets and it smelled weed everywhere.

Les alentours paraissent pas safe, mais il faut s'ouvrir un peu aux autres, et on voit bien que personne ne nous veut de mal.

Overall the placement of the hotel was kind of on the outskirts but just a block away was really good dining a couple of more blocks away was the train but from my understanding of what the Bronx is or supposedly is I had a great experience
"I love the pods. Any time I go to NYC it’s my go to stay. Who needs a huge hotel when you have the city to explore. I expect to be visiting many more times. Staff is great and the convenience of having a bar inside is always a perk. Don’t let the name “pod” discourage you. "
"Good location in New York City, nice area, close to Macy's, easy walk uptown. Comfortable room, good breakfast, quiet interior, good bed quality, lovely shower and tub area, lots of hot water."
