Elevator Slowness Holds Guests Hostage
When I booked this, the room description said it included a kitchen, which is almost unheard of in Times Square. I called twice, talked to two different people and both said there wa n kitchen, but there were coffee makers in the room. I arrived n a Saturday evening when every room was booked. There was a 15 minute wait for the elevator. My room had no coffee maker, no wash clothes, a burned out light bulb, and no coffee maker. My bathroom door did not fully close. The room was more spacious than some older Times Square rooms, but not large. The housekeeping staff was able to get me a partially broken offer maker and a washcloth the next day. I spent 3 nights and the elevators continued to be frustrating, often skipping my floor while traveling in the direction that I summoned. The best things about this hotel is the location and the housekeeping staff. It’s a shame that the owners will not make an investment in the hotel. I will not stay there again

I stayed here 4 years ago and it was a lovely hotel, so decided to book for my trip to New York this time. Unfortunately the hotel has deteriorated since my last visit. Even though everywhere was clean, the hotel and room in general were all very shabby in appearance as if nothing had been done in the past 4 years. Light switches not working, plug sockets half hanging out of the wall, water taken ages to heat to a bearable temperature. The glass to the main entrance was shattered and didn’t give the best first impression. Also the lift situation was a nightmare, sometime waiting over 30mins for a lift/elevator to finally arrive. Even though the building has 3 lifts to service the 16 floors, one is constantly occupied by cleaners, deliveries etc and was told on several occasions to wait for another lift. The second lift was out of order for my entire weeks stay and people who were checking out when I arrived said that it had been that way for all of their stay too. This left one small lift for all of the guests to use which when you are in one of the higher floors made trips in and out of the hotel a nightmare. Ok if you just want a clean room to sleep, but make sure you don’t mind going up and down steps and definitely not a luxe ey hotel.
