This is a historic hotel so creaky floors and noise travels well but it was charming, comfortable, and a good experience with the historical experience in mind. A very fun stay and experience!

Unique and charming property - clean and fun
Very unique and historic property - well cared for and in good shape. Plenty of space and clean. Fascinating place. Karaoke night was downstairs when we arrived, so a little noisy for a while (plus some interesting characters hanging around outside), but it was quiet and comfortable for the night. A bit spooky in a fun way. One of the only lodging options in a relatively rural/rustic area. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing and affordable
Great historic hotel for the adventurous. The staff was amazing. We had adventures here and a great night's sleep. Highly recommend. Also, we used the EV charger in the parking lot.

Decent
Old hotel. So-so bed comfort, but not bad. Impatient and slightly rude cleaning staff. Same for restaurant staff. And, an overall good deal. Not much privacy in rooms, just the older building.

Can’t recommend
Seemed to be a lack of employees to effectively run the hotel. Just a shabby, dirty hotel that had no elevator. No clear entry door. Inconvenient parking. Needs some cleaning, repairs and updating.

Lovely old hotel with themed rooms. Just a bit too much decoration for my taste. Really appreciated this hotel in this small town. Good food too.

A step back in time. This is a well-refurbished classic hotel from the early 1900s. On the date of our stay, the saloon and the restaurant were closed, but included with the room was a coupon for each of us for a Starbucks coffee and a pastry.

This place is so unique and has a great old-timey feel. Easy checkin, even at 4 am. And somehow it is the same price as the other conventional, depressing motels in the area. Definitely the best place to stay in Alturas.
