Maunakea Marketplace heightens the senses with sights, sounds, and savoury smells at this shopping and food destination in the Chinatown area of Honolulu. Locals and travellers will find it easy to get to the market, which offers public parking and trolley and bus stops, as well as an on-site Hawaii Visitor Centre if you have any questions.
If you have never been to this marketplace, look for an entrance featuring a brick arch, Chinese guardian lions, and a green tile roof. On the ground level, visitors will encounter a busy scene with food vendors preparing flavourful dishes made-to-order, including Hawaiian and Asian Pacific cuisine.

Maunakea Marketplace highlights
The shopping experience at Maunakea Marketplace takes place over two stories, with retailers selling a mix of merchandise from clothing to trinkets and more. There are also shops specialising in herbs, produce, fresh meat, and more. Outside in the airy courtyard, tables are set up for people who want to enjoy a casual meal that they just bought.
Along with retailers and food purveyors, the marketplace is also home to the Hawaiian Chinese Multicultural Museum and Archives. Its location in the Central Business District makes it a convenient location for people visiting the area.
