Bucolic quiet and classy
Beautiful setting, clean room, friendly staff, everything was wonderful. Having a welcome note in the room and name on the parking spot were especially appreciated. The breakfast in the room was timely and delicious. We will definitely be back

Nice
Our stay was nice. Rooms were clean and the fireplace in our room was its best feature, although more wood could be provided for longer stays. Walking around the gardens was lovely. Although the llamas aren’t quite as friendly as everyone seems to say, they mostly liked to be kept to themselves as they’re not like sweet alpacas! Breakfast was served everyday at our door in a wire basket. We had the option of 8a or 9a drop-off but had to “return” the basket by 10a, which felt a bit rushed and like forced eating. We had the 9a drop-off and our coffees weren’t as piping hot as we hoped for. The breakfast offered was usually a variety of eggs n fruit or yogurt parfait with muffins. I would rate it 6 out of 10; good/fine but not amazing. Although the inn could use a little more charm and cozy, the stay overall was good, especially with its location close to downtown mendocino.

Mendocino Get Away
Overall a great stay, but the bed was too hard for us to really enjoy our second night. Attempting to sleep on your side resulted in stiff shoulders and hips and our backs were stiff as well. Kind of sad to spend so much money on a hotel room that you don’t even look forward to sleeping in the bed at. We stayed there in the same category of room 5 years ago when it was under a different name and ownership and never had any issues with bed comfort.

Really enjoyed having a view of trees outside our room, and enjoyed the path down to the small beach. We also took the trail from the property into Van Damme State Park, so it was nice to have that accessibility. There were chairs in the back of the property looking at the view of the ocean which was pretty. Overall liked the delivered breakfast and our room was really nice!

Not your average hotel- quite different. The reception area was housed in one building while our room was in a 4 unit cottage across a busy highway. The rest of the property had gardens and farm structures scattered about (enjoyed looking at the llamas). Breakfast was delivered to our door- but nowhere to sit- so we trekked over to one of the other cottages. Breakfast was yogurt, an egg dish (not good) and a mini muffin. Could have been a vegan establishment but I didn’t realize this at the time of booking. The problem: I was booking through Expedia for two couples. It showed a king deluxe suite accompanying 4 people (pull out couch in small anteroom) and a king bed in an alcove room ( no door). When I checked in, I was informed that the other couple would be charged $40 each for the stay. This is on top of the $600 I paid for an incredibly small King deluxe suite across a busy highway and an unsatisfying breakfast. The front clerk said I would have to take it up with Expedia for not disclosing the terms. Not recommended as poor value for the money. But Mendocino was delightful!

The staff is awesome! The facilities are very cool and create a great experience. We had a balcony off our suite, but the broken plank left us a little uneasy about being out on it. Also, the fire place was off limits, which aim not sure if it is a seasonal thing or long-term thing. If it is long-term the space should give way to either a nice piece of art or even a TV. Also, when TVs are not part of the room features, which I agree with, I would suggest a small library or board games. Anway, very cool spot.

Perfect destination for a coastal weekend getaway. Absolutely gorgeous property and easy access to the beach. It was unique and extraordinarily relaxing to feed the chickens and visit the lamas throughout the stay. The wood fireplace in the room with a coastal view in the bay window was spectacular. The staff interactions and cleanliness exceeded expectations. I highly recommend.

Wonderful place to stay in Mendocino coast!
What a wonderful place to stay! We truly enjoyed the grounds. My daughter had so much fun feeding the chickens, watching the llamas and walking in the garden. The breakfast was so yummy! It such a nice touch that they deliver it to your room every morning. Above all, the staff are the best! They were so accommodating and so nice to my daughter. We will be back!

Ocean View Jr. Suite
We had a lovely stay at the Mendocino Inn and Farm. Our Ocean View Jr. Suite was in the East Farmington room (in the Stevenscroft building). This room has a lot of windows and great light. We looked right out onto the amazingly beautiful garden and had a distant view of the ocean. The staff delivered a delicious breakfast to our door every morning, the king-size bed was extremely comfortable, and the wood fireplace (which we used every night) was a treat. The bathroom, which is large, has a tiny stall (but the shower is nice). The wifi, as reported in some of the other comments, was sketchy and not always reliable. There is no refrigerator or microwave in this room, but both are located in a small kitchenette also in the building (handy but not very convenient). We wished for a larger table (the little round table in the room was quite small), and a shelf on which we might have placed belongings. The staff was extremely accommodating; the restaurant in the lodge building had some amazing pizza; and the grounds, complete with a trail to the beach, are gorgeous. Mendocino itself is quaint with a lot of good restaurants and shopping. We had a fabulous dinner at Trillium – and be sure to eat outside at Patterson’s.

Wonderful property, close to the hiking trails to the beach. Our room was on a quiet side, very spacious with lovely, real wood furniture and some view of the ocean. The staff at the reception was friendly and breakfast was hot and plentiful. I was a bit worried about the place reading some negative reviews, but not sure where people stayed and what they eat at home, it is a great place to be in Mendocino. Highly recommended.

Stayed in a lovely room with a patio and a view of the bay. Windows overlooking the llamas every morning. Watching the morning fog roll in and hearing the birds singing. Super amazing. Our dogs have an awesome experience as well.
