Stayed in the smallest room which was described in good humour as "you will bang your head". It was indeed small, but was comfortable enough

Havering Guest House
It was the hottest on record in London during my stay, and the host brought a fan to my room which really helped to cool the room.
I didn't like that the bathroom had a funny smell.

You get what you pay for
The bathroom needs a full overhaul in terms of cleanliness, it is the first place a guest looks and whilst it serviceable, there was a distinctly large amount of mildew visible... My stay was serviceable; I liked the tea/coffee making facility and TV and it did what I needed it to do, which was somewhere to lay my head down for a single night but I wouldn't stay longer than one night and I wouldn't take my wife there...

Alright for the price.
Stayed at the Havening Guest House just for one night. Room was large and having a fridge in the room was handy. Also plenty of tea, coffee etc..
Our room was at the front of the house and it was on a busy road so lots of traffic noise all night which can’t be helped but we live in the country so was surprised the traffic noise went on all night.
Guest House was very tired looking and bathroom needed a revamp, however shower was very hot which was a pleasant surprise.
Added bonus was off street parking.
At the end of the day it cost £55 for 2 of us and it was conveniently situated to attend a family funeral so can’t complain.

Disappointing…. The bedspread was dirty and very old, I couldn’t sleep because my skin was itchy all night.

More attention to cleaning needed
Room 10 - right by the office. Handy for car park to rear. Quite noisy when the office is busy. When I arrived the guy on the desk said 3 nights for 3 people (I corrected him - 2 nights for 1 person) I was then shown to a single room which I assume he hadn’t planned to give me. He quickly removed what appeared to be used towels from the bathroom and replaced them. I then questioned the cleanliness of the bed - it looked used and there were hairs on the sheet (the guy blamed the cleaner who he said had long hair, but the hairs were short) I was provided with a full set of clean bedding. The bathroom needs updating. There is no shelf to put anything. Hot water took forever to come through. Skirting board very dusty. Plenty of shelving / hanging space, but maybe put a door on the wardrobe.
There is parking to the rear which is quite tight, but when I was there a skip was taking up one space. The front of the property has parking, but the surface is poor.
