Friendly local atmosphere
3 night stay as part of a tour. Walkable to Coba ruins but also part of local village. Views of lake and wildlife including big croc and vultures perched on cell tower. Staff relaxed and friendly. During the day very quiet so we had excusive use of the pool.

2 day stopover
This hotel was once a villas arqueologica but is a shadow of its former self. Pool is still fantastic but everything else is tired and uncared for. Restaurant closed during the day and only 3 items available for dinner. No hot water day 1 tepid the next. Extremely disappointed with my 2 day stay

Peaceful elegance
The Kaab Coba hotel is lovely and a good value. We stayed in a family room which had been re-modeled with very nice details such as grab bars in the bathroom, nice recessed lighting niches and good firm beds. The ac unit was a bit too powerful for the size of the room causing it to be difficult to regulate the temp and humidity. The pool is very nice and the general ambiance is very relaxing and elegant. The dinner menu at the restaurant is very limited but there are plenty of places to eat in the immediate area. The fruit salad at breakfast is great. The very short distance to the Coba archeological site is wonderful and the town appears to be building a nice Corniche type boardwalk along the lake. I would definitely revisit this hotel.

WHAT A PEACEFUL AND WONDERFUL HOTEL AND LOCATION!
My husband and I wish we could of stayed in this hotel more than one night as it was so peaceful, unique and beautiful. Our room was so nice, the inner courtyard was tranquil and the restaurant had a great chef. The lake in front with a pier was a wonderful place to enjoy the tranquility and the crocodiles!

Greeted by friendly staff in reception around 9:20 pm. He showed us to our pleasant room and got us a wonderful grilled tilapia with lemon sauce with vegetables as the kitchen was closing. Walked to ruins the day from the hotel. Highly recommend hotel.

Beautiful!
This is a really beautiful place. The pool is gorgeous and clean and the plants around it are beautiful, and there's always at least some parts sunny and some parts shady. There's a ledge/bench around one wall of the pool that tiny kids could walk on if you have littles. The place seems to be like a convent, with little alcoves where you'd expect a statute of the Virgin Mary or a bowl of holy water. It's on a beautiful lake that the sun sets on and water birds hunt fish. When we went in January, it was pretty deserted. The staff are very nice, tolerant of our poor Spanish. The restaurant seemed open very rarely; it wasn't very clear when or where it was, but there are plenty of other places to eat that are delicious nearby. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the ruins. (We got a guide (Otto), who was great, but pricey, $1600.) The staff didn't have the best directions about the bus out of Coba, but the restaurant with the Coba sign and chilli peppers and swing out front did have good information. The bus out of Coba picks you up in front of that restaurant (not the side of the road that the hotel is on). First it goes down the other side of the street; wave to the driver then so he sees you. Then it goes down to the ruins and goes back up the other side, the side of the restaurant. Wave to the bus driver again so he stops. The buses are labeled either Playa del Carmen or Merida or Valladolid (the Merida one stops at Valladolid, cost ~60 pesos pp to Merida).

Jewel in the Jungle
This hotel absolutely shocked me! It was gorgeous inside, the pool was beautiful and there are walking paths and Mayan ruins behind the hotel. The room was immaculate and super comfortable! We wish we had stayed more than 1 night. Be sure to wander down to the lake and look for alligators... There are a few to watch.

A Hidden Gem
This is the most amazing place. It's at the end of the street and overlooks a gorgeous lake. I felt like we had stepped into another world. The landscaping and rooms are beautiful. There's a covered pier to look at fish and birds, and if you ask, they'll take some chicken out to let you see the crocodile. The pool's big. They have ancient ruins on a beautiful garden walkway. Isaiah was a wonderful host. We also ate in their restaurant, and it was great food.

Ancient ruins included within hotel grounds is an awesome perk especially if you are staying the night and plan to visit the Coba ruins the next morning. This allows you to become acquainted with the historical features in a beautiful setting. The hotel is almost like a museum in itself because of its design layout. Pool is beautiful, staff professional and the garden is a treat to walk in evenings. Super clean rooms and very comfy beds.

An oasis in Coba
Very good value, rooms set around a beautiful pool area with tropical plants. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Really glad we chose to stay 2 nights in Coba rather than on a day trip.
