APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Ekimae Tower
"The location in Tokyo was great for us! Since it was near a subway stop, we were able to get around the city quite easily. The staff were very helpful and we loved the automated check-in."
THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku
"Great"
Shinagawa Prince Hotel
"Its location is very convenient, and I appreciate the self laundry facility and a 7-11 store onsite. The only thing that I didn’t like as much was the lack of plugs in the room for charging devices, and the room still felt a bit warm even with AC on in the summer. "
Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport - Directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3
"Maybe not the best location per say for a visit. But hotel room.are pretty decent. And big for Japan."
Hotel Gracery Shinjuku
"This hotel is in the center of everything and convenient to the train station. The rooms are a little small, but the reasonable price makes up for the lack of space. The Godzilla theme is cool too."
HOTEL METROPOLITAN OIMACHI TRACKS TOKYO
"Fantastic location, high quality and spacious rooms with really comfortable pillows and good air conditioning. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Tokyo and I would recommend to anyone traveling there."
Shinjuku Granbell Hotel
"Clean room great location couldn’t ask for more"
Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo
"Had a lovely stay at the Tobu Hotel with my spouse. The staff were helpful, and accomidating in getting us set up in our room. They also helped us arrange a taxi for one of our evenings activities. The hotel is conviently located near Kinschencho Station which makes public transit a breeze. There is also a Don Quixote nearby ehich makes last minute souvenir shopping super convenient! The hotel also has a nice lobby providing a classy feel and ambience. Room wise, we ordered the double room and found it had more than enough space which was nice after our muxh smaller room in Kyoto. We did not request a tower view, but still found the view to be quite nice, with the city spread out around us (we were also able to still see the tower). Our only real complaint is that the tub was a bit slick to stand in while showering, which made footing precarious. The bathroom was also had a low ceiling which was bothersome for my 5'7 husband. There were also not a lot of outlets and outlet placement was a bit inconvenient for charging devices. Otherwise it was fantastic and we would definitely stay again."
Apa Hotel Higashi Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower
"Beds were comfy. Rooms were very clean and quiet, despite loud people on the street below. Great location for exploring Shinjuku on foot. Lots of restaurants nearby, and lots of accomodation for English speakers. Great access to multiple public transport lines within walking distance. Would highly recommend to first time travellers who want an affordable hotel near the nightlife and day activities. The breakfast buffet was very yummy, with many choices of both western and Japanese dishes. Many staff speak enough English to assist you with whatever you may need."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Tokyo
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly times to visit Tokyo are in January, August, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the city's rich history and culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, visitors can discover significant landmarks, museums, and temples, as well as enjoy urban shopping and admire the city's stunning architecture. Additionally, exploring the natural parks and indulging in the local seafood scene will provide a great value for money experience while immersing oneself in the vibrant culture of Tokyo.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Tokyo, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels approaching your travel date. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you’re informed about any opportunities to save. Through Smart Shopping , available on the app, you can compare hotel prices and amenities, allowing you to make informed decisions. This way, you could be the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop, perfect for planning a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more favourable rate for your stay in a Tokyo hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and occasionally better value. When you make a reservation with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we will suggest alternative dates that may offer more affordable options, assisting you in finding a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Tokyo’s excellent public transport links, you might find an independently owned hotel further afield that is more likely to be affordable while still being well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
