Character in Central Rome.
Our extended family stayed at La Gensola for four nights. We had two adjoining units on the first floor with interconnecting door. The apartments are very comfortable, spacious, secure nicely furnished and modern in a lovely old building in the old locality of Trastevere. It is a large district of narrow cobbled lanes, restaurants everywhere, a short walk to the Forum and the Coliseum. The apartments are across the road from the Tiber River and two minutes from the trams. There is no reception, so you need to arrange an arrival time and Lorenzo will meet you with the key.

Nice apartment in a good location
Great location, on the ground floor, near the action. some noise at night from the street and nearby restaurants, which is expected. the two full bathrooms are a real plus

Great stay
Great place. Spacious, clean, quiet. It was absurdly hot that week and the air conditioning worked great. We were 2 hours late getting there and the manager was great. He even set up a driver to the airport the day we checked out and let us leave our luggage there until the driver arrived. We would definitely stay here again.

Well located and resourced apartment for a couple
After a misunderstanding in the check-in, from the apartment side, I enjoyed my stay in this apt. Clean, well resourced and very well located. I would stay again in this apartment.

Great neighborhood. Close enough to walk to everything but still out of the business. Place was large enough for 4 adults. Clean and had necessary amenities. Updated and comfortable.

Trastevere treasure!
La Gensola has the perfect location for walking to EVERY area of interest in Rome. This is our fifth trip to Rome and this little 2 bedroom apt suited our needs perfectly. (Two couples). Two bedrooms, two baths with an ingenious sliding wall to separate the larger bedroom from the kitchen area (which was well equipped). The small couch was somewhat "tired" in appearance and the four kitchen chairs VERY hard, but these are small things. The owner graciously and immediately arranged to let us in at 10 am when we arrived unexpectedly early. (You do have to call to arrange getting the keys etc) which we hugely appreciated. Highly recommended if you like the convenience of kitchen facilities and the ability to explore by foot and yet be in the centre of the Trastevere "buzz". It's not fancy, but the showers were strong and always hot, the wifi excellent, the fridge and gas burners useful, the beds very comfortable (second bedroom has 2 singles) and we slept well even given the ground floor location and proximity to street/piazza noise. Very responsive, respectful and amenable owner and staff. Would return in a heartbeat! Thanks Luisa, Lorenzo and our charming maid whose name we didn't get.
