We arrived at the Best Western Hotel City Ost only to discover the hotel was closed. Apparently it had been closed for several months. We were NEVER notified, how can this be possible? I am blind and I rely upon Orbitz to provide me with accurate information so I can travel safely. I Eventually I was able to contact another BEst Western and they found a transferred reservation. This should NEVER have happened. Luckily I am an experienced traveler; I am also very resourceful. I can only imagine the panic and anxiety, and trauma such circumstances would provoke in most blind or otherwise handicapped tourists.
In my opinion, this was a failure on the part of Orbitz, someone in your organization should have known the property was closed. I had to track down the reservation, and pay additional transportation costs in order to arrive at the Best Western Hotel in Der Mitte. This is entirely unacceptable; you MUST be more thorough when listing hotels: no one should arrive at a hotel with a confirmed paid reservation only to find the doors shuttered, no staff, and no information.
