Cielo y Selva is a very convenient option to stay in one of the most beautiful places there is in this world! Staff is great and hotel has good things to relax at the beach.

Worth the long bumpy drive. Do not try to drive in a car. SUV or truck only and make sure you have a full tank of gas and plenty of water.

Cielo y Selva, simply speaking , is marvelous. It is peaceful and clean, the sea is beautiful. Staff are exceptional. The chef works magic with The menu. And, they work with local tour operators in a very sustainable way. The only drawback is that access on foot to the Reserve is virtually non-existent. But, if you want to get away from it all, this is a perfect choice. And, I've seen about 40 species of birds here.

This place is the definition of tranquility. Not much happening around here except the waves breaking on the shore and the stars sparkling in the sky. A place to wallow in the natural beauty surrounding you and feel thankful that there are still places like this.

Location is brilliant. 3 day stay and not once was room serviced. We had stayed 2 times prior. Rented highway price accommodation. Power out at 2 am without ventilation, lights. The site is powered by a grossly inadequate generator. They did not replace toilet paper (brought our own) did not sweep or empty trash cans (beach location and sandy ) but we learned to bring our own broom. Although food for sale the offerings were snack items at best. We know to go into town based on pst experience. It is not luxury or delux in any way. This is glorified camping and should be categorized as such for others. I had not offered any negative feedback in the last however this facility needs a wake up call.

Secluded relaxing beach getaaway
Lovely escape on a secluded beach, 5min walk from a small fishing village in Sian Ka'an. The common areas are lovely, with clean, soft sand, hummocks, tables and chairs and cushions to sit on. I wish I had stayed there longer. The shared bathrooms were clean, pretty, and comfortable to use. I stayed in a "glamping" tent, which was nice but had a tendency to overheat because the air doesn't flow through (there is only one opening), so it was helpful to have the fan. (The air is hot, but there's a constant breeze off the water, so outside the tent it was quite comfortable.) The restaurant has a variety of dishes, the coconut pancakes were nice, the guacamole and the fish were kindof okay, and the chicken skewers were outstanding, so it's all a bit of a surprise. :) There are other restaurants in town with more traditional Mexican food. Some seasons there is a lot of seaweed, so not nice to swim and it smells. As for the “outdoor pool”, it's tiny and only for sitting. The road here is like driving on the moon, so don't drive if you get carsick. To take a boat, show up at 3pm at the entrance of Hostal Pueblo Magica in Tulum, where there's a van transfer to a boat for 650MXN. Return is at 7am. I would recommend Cielo y Selva to anyone who wants to get away to someplace where it feels like you're away from everything on a tranquil and secluded beach paradise. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a lively area, not much other than scenery and fishing in Punta Allen.

4/10 Fair

I liked the palm trees on the beach. But the seaweed stunk real bad, the bathrooms were tiny and dirty, there was a huge beehive close to our tent, and the advertised onsite pool was only a small wading pool to clean your feet. The nearby town is full of garbage, it is sad what happened to it over the years. We couldn't swim, nor did we see any animals except some emaciated roosters and some wild cats and dogs. It was depressing and so not worth the cumbersome, pothole riddled drive.

NYE Stay
Please make sure you block out 3 hours to drive from the gate (the entrance to the national reserve) to the hotel. And it’s only 25 miles...the road it THAT bad. And that’s not counting the inevitable Tulum traffic. So, 4-5 hours once you make the east turn to Tulum. The place is so secluded and peaceful. The poor town is pretty run down but amazing people and 3 or so restaurants and all 3 were really good.
