Washington and related destinations

Between the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol, the National Mall unfolds like America's front yard, where museums offer everything from moon rocks to Monets for free. The White House tour requires advance planning, but anyone can snap photos from Lafayette Square. Cherry blossoms frame the Tidal Basin each spring, creating a pink canopy that locals celebrate like visiting celebrities. Beyond monuments, areas like Adams Morgan serve Ethiopian feasts and late-night jumbo slices, while U Street's historic jazz clubs still swing nightly. For a perfect evening, catch a sunset from the steps of the Jefferson Memorial, then wander to a Georgetown patio where political gossip flows as freely as the cocktails.

The Henley Park Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I enjoyed my time here. I had a really nice 3-night stay as a solo female traveler in 08/26. Very clean! Perfect comfy bed, quiet room. Great water pressure; polite front desk staff especially Oscar at night. This hotel is old, charming, and quirky, which I loved. If you want modern and fancy, this isn’t your place. Don’t miss Rosa’s, the new diner around the corner 2 minutes away. I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Only caution: toilets are lower than usual - just FYI if you have hip or mobility issues. Not a big deal for me personally. I would stay here again."

"Even just stepping into the hotel, I felt I had entered a unique atmosphere. Thousands of kilometers away from home—on a solo journey to a city I was visiting for the first time—the hotel made me feel safe and right at home, thanks to both its architecture and its helpful, friendly staff. The comfort, cleanliness, and elegance were outstanding. I hope to return one day. Sending love and endless thanks from Turkey (Mehtap)"
