Terrible stay! Better hotels in J’slm
Keep looking! It’s so loud from the nightclubs around blasting music, you’d think you were in a nightclub. The design was so poor and that the shower would breed mold and smell like mold daily despite chlorine cleanings. The design allowed for no ventilation in the shower, breeding a lot of mold. Additionally, you would have to be in complete darkness in the bathroom on the Sabbath, because there is a big window, showing the interior of the bathroom to the bedroom. So if left the light on, that means light would be on in your bedroom all night, which is a strange design for Israel, knowing that a lot of people do not use turn on or off lights on the Sabbath. It’s very frustrating that if you want to order food to the room or need anything and you dial the operator, you don’t get anybody onsite and they tell you that room service will call you back. Many times I had a call upwards of five times over a span of maybe 40 minutes in order for room service to even call me in order to order food. the manager was very nice and trying extra hard to be helpful but the entire system is flawed. The food tasted delicious except for in the lobby bar. I ordered the ravioli dish, and it was soaked with may be the equivalent of 10 tablespoons of butter, was just too much fat for my stomach to handle, and was up all night nauseous. I do not recommend anybody stay here. In addition to the mentioned problems, while the spa and the rest of the hotel looks very nice, the old masseuse was awful.

Beatiful hotel with a great breakfast.
Beautiful hotel with a great breakfast! It was a bit overcrowded when we stayed, a 15 minute wait in line for breakfast. We were also unpleasently surprised to learn there’s an 18 ILS charge for room service (aside from the actual price of dishes). If you’re staying here, I highly recommend having dinner at HaSadna which is a 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

We love the Orient
While the lights in the room are a little funky, and we just don’t get windows from the bathroom into the bedroom, everything else about the hotel is awesome!

The Orient is conveniently situated in the Week Rifaim area of Jerusalem. It's a 20 minute walk to the old city. Property looks good rooms are nicely set up, cleaning service good. My only negative is that they don't have enough front desk help.

This is my third stay at the Orient, and it remains my favorite hotel in Jerusalem. The beauty, the atmosphere, the pool, the food. I’ve already booked my next stay…

Stunning hotel but service is poor during holidays
We stayed 2 days, hotel was packed, breakfast was just magnificent , first morning service was terrible, I complained and second morning it was excellent. The outdoor pool area was accessible only if you go just to swim. No seats and sunbed chairs available before 5 Pm. I will definitely go back to this stunning hotel but not anymore during school holidays

Disappointed as two years ago I stayed for week and really looked forward to coming back. The sink was completely off the counter. The shower leaked all over the floor and the soaked the washroom. The fridge never worked and the light switches fell off the wall. Upon checkout the clerk informed me that the fridge is not suppose to get cold. When you are told a fridge is in the room for medication then you expect it to work. I was told by the clerk they would hold my medication. That is not an acceptable answer. Very disappointed

Great hotel, let down by breakfast service
The Orient is beautiful, in a lovely part of Jerusalem, with amazing views from the pool. The only downside is the very poor, chaotic service at breakfast. Items, including gluten free and dairy products aren’t labelled properly, getting service is very difficult, tables are cleared slowly.

Will definitely be back
A beautiful hotel! Rooms are beautifully appointed. We stayed in the heritage building and loved the combination of antique and modern styles. Felt like an oasis. The staff were friendly, welcoming and responsive to all our requests. The food was delicious and an exquisite buffet at breakfast. The dining room got a bit hectic at times in the mornings, and it sometimes felt like they were understaffed as it took a long time to get coffee. But we could see that the staff were doing the best they could under the circumstances.
