Started off bad at arrival when reception coldly stated that i cannot check in without ID. No hotels in London require ID and i never had it on me. There is nothing on the hotels.com website stating this. We sorted it but only because i got a copy of my passport from the cloud!
Room is tiny - 4 strangers in a room, snoring, farting, fidgeting, coughing, trips to the toilet, talking in sleep. The room was boiling hot too! It was very difficult to get to sleep or not disturb other guests if you needed to do anything at all as everyone is within 1 arm reach of you.
The showers on my floor were out of action so had to use other floors. Toilets were disgusting, unclean and didn't flush - same everywhere i tried across the whole building!! Had to use a local Pret in the end.
The working showers were good though - by that i mean hot and excellent flow rate - the rest of the facilities in these rooms were run down, falling apart or poorly maintained with broken door locks, toilets covered in poo, disgusting!
Having said all of the above, at £35 in central London, it was value for money in a great location (if none of the above issues to do with poor maintenance bother you at all). The facilities on the ground floor - bar, games, food & drinks were excellent although staff on service were painfully slow to serve anybody... you need to be very patient!
