The hotel really reminds you that you’re not in a first world country by far…it’s so old, dark, and run down that you literally use physical keys for doors and the safe. It’s on par with old motels you see in movies. The location was good but this was not worth the cost savings. I should’ve went with a more expensive option or dive resort. For the quality, this should’ve been half of what it cost. The food at the restaurant was actually really good. I had breakfast here twice and it was totally worth the price, delicious and cheap.

The staff is excellent! 🙌. Very friendly and accommodating. The location allowed us to safely cross the road and get on our boat to Scuba dive. Our bed was comfortable and was very happy our room had a refrigerator and air conditioning. The hotel is in a state of renovation with lots of noise during the day. It would have been great to have a small table with chairs in the room.

This place is past its prime. When you check in, you get no information about the facility procedures - meals, towel exchange process, etc. By the last day I figured it all out. With few exceptions, the staff is rude, low energy, and often act inconvenienced. The electrical outlets were hanging out of the wall. Ants run around your room. Beds are extremely hard. Very low water pressure and lukewarm temperature. The beach area is actually 12 kilometers away. The food is mediocre at best. Construction is happening so the daytime hours are very loud. If you’re hoping for a nap in your room, don’t count on it because of the noise. No elevator.

We stayed in the villas next to the hotel. They were a little outdated, but extremely clean and well kept. Since they were detached from the hotel, they were very quiet and convenient to access. They were also close to the pool and beach area. The staff were very courteous, and the housekeeping did a super job.

Staff was always nice and helpful. The room was big and had a view to the ocean. It’s an old building and running water from the tap was irregular for example but in general it was ok and in a good location.

This area of Cozumel is safe and clean, and everyone is happy. The hotel is a nice mixture of modern and historical. For example, the counter at the front desk is topped with a beautiful and massive tree surface. The grounds were immaculate, and the pool was clean, with the swim-up bar being great. The restaurant was great...low prices and reasonable size portions.

The room was clean, the staff was very nice. I didn’t care for the construction going on, However if you aren’t spending time
In your room, then it should be fine. The restaurant was good, but with the all inclusive package you are limited on what food you can order off the menu. Live music one night was nice but only played for a short time. Overall I’d stay here again … but I am a solo traveler so my needs aren’t that great.

The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The staff is wonderful. The building themselves show a little wear and tear, but still a very lovely and quaint place to stay. We did not opt for the all inclusive, and did not regret that. Although the food is adequate, it is not something to stay there for, many many places around to try. It was relaxed and laid-back not noisy. Not crowded. We loved it and we will be back. I’m sure.

Casa del Mar is a very comfortable place to stay in Cozumel. They pay particular attention to taking care of their grounds which are like a tropical garden. Our room had partial view of the ocean and a small balcony. This was a good place to sit outside and read a book. Staff was welcoming and helpful.

Great location right across from dive instruction. Property is vintage. Pool was great. Restaurant was adequate. Did not pay for the meal plan as we don’t drink much. Staff very helpful. Walkable to lots of dining options. Not walkable to downtown. A large diving group monopolized pool in afternoons Will definitely stay again.

Another great stay at Casa Del Mar
This is our second stay at Casa Del Mar. The first time was in a 1 bedroom in 2019, and just this year in a two-bedroom. Both were in the large building in the back that faces the basketball/tennis courts. Both have a great Kitchenette/Bar that we made great use of. Those rooms don't have ocean views or a balcony, but it was quiet back there, and we were out most of the day anyhow . I do recommend the 2nd or 3rd floor as its very private with window shades open you pretty much see the tree tops out the windows and no other buildings looking in on you. The property is an older Mexican style resort that is well maintained and clean. Room always serviced daily and plenty of towels. Never had to ask for anything extra. The staff were very friendly. I found the beds comfortably firm. I know some reviews mentioned sometimes difficulty with hot water, but we never had a problem and used the shower at different times of the day. Bottled water and hallway water dispenser provided daily a plus. The restaurant has a good selection/variety and everything I had there was great at a reasonable price. It looks like they are in construction, adding a 4th floor, and I look forward to seeing what the expansion will be on a future visit.
