What a lovely city, full of historic buildings and gardens. We explored a new place everyday, mostly on foot. The few times we needed to use the Metro, it was easy to navigate. If Portuguese isn't your language, it's ok. Lisbon is very accommodating!

It felt like the safest capital city I've ever visited. There are numerous different regions of the city with their own characteristics - from the medieval centre, to the wide open area on the waterfront, to areas similar to the backstreets of Paris

Lisbon is an amazing, international city. You can get away with English (and French, it seems) almost everywhere, though Portuguese is appreciated. It feels safer than, e.g. Madrid, and is filled with culture, fashion, and beautiful people. Walkable.

My second visit to Lisbon and I saw a whole different side with the hilly parts, the castle and trying the fish dishes which were most excellent. You must take a day trip to Sintra but plan it well. Migrant residents who set up takeaways - thank you!

Be prepared to walk a lot of hills in Lisbon. You can hire a tuk tuk but that would get very expensive to do daily. We enjoyed walking everywhere so it's perfect for active people. If you have limited mobility, it may not be the best place for you.

It's a deeply interesting city, with millenia of history and stuff to do. Take in a fado show, explore some old churches, and eat some great food. Bring good walking shoes as the roads and sidewalks are very rough stone, and the whole city is hilly.

Once you've seen the city centre make sure to take yourself out to Oriente on the red metro line. Fantastic waterside development with cafes restaurants and views of the Vasco da Gama bridge from the observation tower and the fantastic Oceanarium

Lisbon is a beautiful and vibrant city with lots to see and do. The quirky transport system makes it fun just getting around. However over-tourism is a problem - impossibly long queues for some attractions and i did have my purse stolen from my bag

Lisbon is a fantastic city with so much to offer. The locals are so friendly giving everything a wonderful atmosphere. Something to see and do for every taste. The only things that lets Lisbon down are the fag ends and broken glass on the squares.
"This hotel is in a great area in the heart of everything. The view from our little balcony of the city looking down to the water was stunning. At check-in, we got upgraded to a bigger room. The room was super comfortable and quiet. "
"Great hotel. Great staff. And on top of all Great service. Our rooms were upgraded to connecting rooms on our request and the front desk manager was just too kind and amazing he got us what we requested for on no extra cost. Huge rooms. Very comfortable. Only one thing we did not like was the Breakfast which costs £28 per person and not up to the standard, on the day of our flight we had the chance to have it at the hotel and they messed our order, however after composting to the staff we were not charged for it. The customer service itself was so good that would bring us back to this hotel. For breakfast; There a little cafe 7 min walk and they serve one of the best breakfasts its called Atelier. About the hotels location; the hotel is located 8 minutes walk to the start of Avenua de Liberdade which is the highlight of Lisbon city centre a street with shopping and restaurants. It is easy to walk to the avenue and the jolt app works really well and one of the cheapest in Europe. However there are other options to stay on Liberdade avenue if you want to be right in the shopping street. We had 3 kids with us and had no issues walking or even taking a bolt taxi. A supermarket is located 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Note: there is no swimming pool at this property. Over all, we had one of the best stays at intercontinental. Service and comfort was 10/10. "
"This hotel is centrally located in Lisbon and looks regal from approach. Staff were friendly, the room was in good shape and a decent value for the money. The rooms could use more outlets, but it sounds like renovations are beginning this month. Our room had a great view of the castle! The rooftop bar is best for drinks rather than food, but had great views of the city. The veranda restaurant was fantastic in both view and food, although somewhat expensive. As mentioned in other reviews, there is one border of the hotel that looks a little sketchy, so just enter and exit from one of the 3 other locations. "
"Great hotel really close to airport. Very walkable and easy shuttle. Breakfast is great and starts early in morning for those who need to get to airport early. Great stay! "
"Only stayed one night but it was great. Close to the mall and even better about 10 minutes from the airport which is why I chose it. The staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend. "
"The Epic Sana is a 5 Star A+ hotel. The staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful with whatever you need, restaurants, guides, spa, etc. The inclusive breakfast has so many choices we didn't know how we would find room for lunch! Two pools, one of the roof and one in the basement with the spa and gym. It was a wonderful vacation stay in the middle of an urban city."
"Great location, room is not very big but manageable with 2 people, staff is friendly. The elevator is small but it works, we never have to wait for elevator. Soundproof but you would still hear people closing door. Overall it was amazing!"
