The Good:
--------------
Location
---
Palace of Versailles is 10-mins walking distance to the main gate. The main Markets of Versailles are 15-20 mins walk.
Staff
---
In general, friendly & helpful.
On check-in, they asked if I needed help with my bags. Nice touch.
Bed
--
Comfortable.
The Bad:
------------
Parking
---
On-site, underground & gated.
*Very* small entry/exit.
This is not unique to this particular hotel.
Many city-based hotels in France have car parks designed for Fiesta / Clio sized cars.
If you have anything on your roof-rack (bikes, etc.), you are in trouble.
The Room
---
An electrical noise / humming, (elevator motor?) noise coming from *somewhere*.
We rang reception & they said it was too late at night to get a new room.
They said to raise it with the staff in the morning.
That was very unhelpful.
We didn't sleep well.
Air Conditioning
---
"Centrally" controlled from their reception.
You have a panel in your room for turning it on/off, but you can't set the temperature lower than their pre-set, which was too hot for us.
If you like a "cold" room (16-18 C, 60-64 F) you will struggle.
This is not unique to this hotel.
Many hotels in France do not have "real" Air Conditioning, (in the American sense, where you have full control).
Cleanliness
---
Bathroom had not been fully cleaned.
Poor attention to detail.
Phone
---
It had been left unplugged.
Electrical wall plug panel had fallen off, leaving exposed wires when I tried to plug it in.
