Machu Picchu was breathtaking. We liked Circuit 2 the best. Aguas Calientes Is a small, quaint town. Great for exploring before or after Machu Picchu. Recommend making 2 Machu Picchu reservations on two days, in case it rains or foggy one day.

Go to Machu Picchu! It's freaking amazing! You can get a guide at the top outside the gate. Getting tickets in advance for the right circuit is advisable. Make sure you have time to enjoy the vibes in Aguas Calientes - it's magical!

The town is actually not Machu Picchu. It is Aguas Calientes. There isn't a town at Machu Picchu. Aguas Calientes is a great, unique little town nestled between two wonderful mountain rivers. Great food and drink!

The town is "carless", so that is refreshing! The visit to the actual sacred sanctuary is an AMAZING experience!!

Skip the guides in the "city" and get them at the entrance of the site (make sure to negotiate!). Once you figure out how the entrance and tickets work, it's very well organized but figuring it out takes a while...

We had a wonderful walk around the city. There's a lot to see. We did visit the hot springs. Machu Picchu itself was awesome. Make sure to bring sunglasses and sunscreen.
