"I have to say that the lobby of this hotel is peculiar, although it’s beautiful it’s really a mall with a hotel dining room and a small check in area on the side, it feels less important than it should. Having said that the staff os excellent and tge service is what you expect from a peninsula hotel, very kind and accommodating. The rooms are very luxurious and comfortable. I would recommend. "

"Beautiful modern outlook, friendly staff. Good amenities from Aesop and staff always give us extra bottles of water which is very welcomed. Room is spacious and decor is modern and luxurious. There is however a few occasions where we return to the room in the evening find it not cleaned (used coffee cups and glasses still in room, pieces of rubbish still on floor). "It has a good location as it's not too far from some of the main attractions. It's nice to walk around the area amongst all the various embassy's. The staff are very helpful. "Overall was a nice Hotel. Very quiet as guests start to come back to China. Room was over hot and no local control so after a couple nights bad sleep and feeling sick, got maintenance to open the windows. Made it just bearable. "Well this is China, so no point expecting Western type of facilities. But the room was big, very big comfy and clean beds. No tea nor coffee, no breakfast nor restaurant as described and staff didn't really speak English at all. However, great location, just 80Rmb in a cab from PEK. Aircon worked really well and it was half the price of an equivalent hotel in more expensive cities. "Erm. This was unlike any other Fairmonts I've stayed at elsewhere around the world. The hard product is solid. The rooms are large and well-equipped. The gym is excellent and I even checked out the pool. Large bathroom was great. The soft product was sort of how I imagined hotels in North Korea are like. Stern, cold, minimal. Each staff member we saw felt like they were there more to monitor us and our movements than to provide welcoming, warm service. No smiles. One-word check-in. Frigid....
