Nice but needs renovation. No C19 protection.
We splashed out on a junior suite for our babymoon. Overall the room was nice but it was in desperate need of renovation. Badly scratched wallpaper by the bed, dirty paint in the hallway, cracks in the ceiling paint, the upper half of the couch was faded to a different colour by the sun etc. Most importantly, other than having some lines on the ground and hand disinfectant at check in, there did not appear to be any protections against Covid-19. I felt extremely nervous at the breakfast buffet, both from people touching and breathing on everything and also crowding close to reach things. Indoor seating was better space wise than the outdoor seating, which was very close together. The spa was nice but felt very overpriced. It wasn't all that different from a regular hotel pool and gym with jacuzzi and sauna.

Not what it used to be
Im sorry to say that there is very little ”Grand” left at this hotel. Over the last few years I have seen this property go downhill. The hotel is poorly maintained, the service is somewhat efficient but more becoming of a 2 star establishment and without any finesse or grace. The meals are low level, served from the hands of teenage summer staff but with prizes reminiscing of old days. Everything is there for this to be an amazing hotel but at the same time everything is missing. The only positive thing that is unchanged is the beautiful location and the beatiful views.

Enjoying Autumn at the marvelous Grand Hotel
We loved staying at this majestic hotel. Madeline at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast was fantastic with a lovely view, friendly servers, and a bountiful buffet. The location was great due to the close proximity to the train which we took into Stockholm each morning. It was a quiet and luxurious place to come home to each evening after a packed day of sightseeing. Sitting by the fireplace in the lobby or going to the second floor sitting room with a grand piano or heading over to the pool table we’re all great places to unwind. We’re sure summer would be marvelous at this hotel, but we enjoyed the brisk fall mornings to walk on a nearby island...a short bridge walk from the hotel.

Scenic hotel with easy access to Stockholm
An excellent location from which to visit Stockholm. The Metro train stops in front of the hotel and takes about a 30 minute scenic trip that ends at just outside the Old Town. Breakfast was very good and the rooms very quiet.

Everybady was super nice. It is very quiet area, it is kind of far away to go to downtown and airport. Room was clean, nice and big. It was extra bed that was hiden in the wall. Just it is not enough light in the room speciarly in the bathroom. It is difficult do you make up with this light. Food in the restaurant was tasty. Kitchen works until 9 pm. In general it was pleaser for me to stay there. Nature around the hotel is very beautiful

Beautiful settings. Room has the antique castle look interior. Room number displayed above door from INSIDE. Which I thought it was unique. Bedding is comfortable. Waking with an outstanding view was super nice. Needs a little touch up And maintenance. Breakfast was excellent.
