Royal Central Hotel The Palm

From the time we pulled up at 2:00 am, until we left, the service was impeccable and the entire property so clean it appeared brand new! The ONLY know against this property is that they (like many other hotels in the Arabian Gulf region), don't provide true "face cloths" - just hand towels. If your clientele is primarily European / non-Arabic, this is a big mistake because I don't want to use a big hand towel to wash my face... Other than that, a fabulous experience.

I arrived with my wife and enfant to hotel around 10PM, the waiter awaited me to exit from the car and to walk to his desk to ask him about the parking, he informed that I should leave my car outside till I finish the checkin. After checkin he advised me to take my car to parking by myself!!! I through the hotel offer valet parking. There was a very bad smell on the basement parking coming from the mix of restaurants food. The bathroom was not clean, we have noticed presence of flys and insects. Absence of any help at the beach area. The big surprise was the payment of supplement for the coffee because the hotel is offering the breakfast without coffee. We will not return again to this hotel, how it got rated 5* ?

When I checked in, the staff asked me to wait in the lobby for them to come get me. I waited an hour and went back to their desk only to discover they had forgotten me. Once they got me my cards, only one of the two was configured. I got stuck outside as I had left with the u configured one. During my stay, my room card got disabled 3 times in 6 days. It makes no sense. The hotel is great, the location is nice. But the staff is poorly trained. And they have too many system glitches.

Very helpful staffs

The welcome by Emmanuel was fantastic, Julia at reception was very dry and everything was a bit hard to get from her. The room was dusty, balcony had cigarets buds, bed was done everyday but the floor never cleaned from 1st day.... bathroom had to request towels as not replaced, neither the toiletries and toilet paper. The girls from the pool service not friendly, and served drink without glasses, food without cutlery and took ages to come back and when came back had an horrible face. Coming back at night-after Emmanuel or gabriel gone home, concierge not bothered to help us out. As we where leaving nobody bothered to help to get taxi or put our case in the taxi. Not impressed! Extended our stay in Dubai but stayed in a different hotel. Expected more from this hotel as it is in the Palm and looked good....but unfortunately bad experience for me and my son.
