The place exceeded our expectations. Lawrence is a first class host. The place is really quirky and well worth the money. Leeuwarden is just a fantastic base in the north of the country and we made a visit to one of the Wadden Islands with a two hour ferry journey which was splendid.

I stayed at the Anker a few times after my apartment was sold. Not only was it the most economical option for private rooms in Leeuwarden, but also for all of Nederland. Amenities vary by room type, but had a good stay in all the room types I tried. Excellent location in the center of Ljouwert.

El hotel está muy bien situado. Es antiguo en general, con suelos de moqueta, aunque los baños y duchas parecen bastante nuevos. Las escaleras de acceso a las plantas superiores estrechas y empinadas. El desayuno es correcto y tipo buffet, aunque se hecha en falta una tostadora y leche caliente para echar al café. El personal amable y diligente.
