Mixed feelings
I got a bit of mixed feeling about this stay: At some points it was great and at others there was room for improvement. Let me elaborate: 1) During check in there was not a single staff member that could speak Dutch. And the girl on check in was rather unfriendly. Not a huge issue as we speak many languages but I found it weird for a Hotel in the Netherlands. 2) There was a party in the area around the bar for the company itself but as a guest you felt excluded because u see many people partying having food and even a BBQ outside. Great party but the area that was left for the guests was encroached upon by the same people all working in Hospitality giving me and my wife (and other guests) a lot less space at the bar (we were lucky we got 2 seats at the bar before the party started) area as people just came to the guest area to eat their fill and talk and have fun (all great of course, but as a guest you are excluded which in my opinion could have been arranged better. 3) Highlight of our stay was a young man named Juan who actually in the midst of the party took the time to ensure we were ok and made several recommendations for restaurants and actually made sure we felt like guests. As a former Marriott Manager I was pretty disappointed by the overall stay but then pleasantly surprised by 1 single team member who made all the difference.

I loved this hotel. Our room for a small family was quite large, the bathroom was very big. The beds are very firm (not great if you don’t like that), but otherwise very comfortable with lots of plugs and USB for charging. We didn’t realize how close it was to the train station Vaartsche Rijn, so we accidentally took the train to Utrecht Centraal and had to go back, then discovered the hotel is across the street from that station.

Central location
Central location, near rail station and city centre, clean hotel, friendly staff if not a little expensive. Minimalistic hotel room, just above a local night club, a little noisy some evenings but didn’t disturb me too much.
