Profile: Copacabana

Profile: Copacabana

Copacabana’s beach is 2.5 miles long and as smooth as can be, but what makes it so much more alluring than other beaches around the world? Try world-class theater, shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, and seaside champagne bars to name just five things. Add tropical weather and five-star hotels to this Rio South Zone region, and you’ve got yourself a tourist destination.

Don’t leave Brazil without trying restaurants such as Churrascaria Palace, which opened in 1951 and serves tender cuts of meat, a variety of seafood, fresh vegetables, and even a selection of olive oil and honey.

There was absolutely no comforter on the bed, just a plain sheet to cover yourself. My initial room had a leak from the ceiling. They did allow me to switch rooms. The rooms seem kind of old.

    Obrigado Brasil!

The staff of the hotel were absolutely amazing. Always ready to assist in any way. Many guests are saying that the walls are thin-while it may be true, it never bothered me one bit. I wasn’t staying at the hotel during the day, nor should anyone-Rio is a wonderful place to explore and it should take up most of your day. And at night everyone was sleeping so I didn’t hear the noise. The gym, sauna and rooftop pool are terrific.

    Nice folks, nice breakfast but...

I don’t blame the hotel 100%, I think hotels dot com also take a responsibility of claiming this hotel to be a 4-star. It was nice to see how busy this hotel was in the midst of this crazy pandemic. I arrived very early and they required 100R for an early check in so I opted out to have a nice lunch somewhere until I was able to check in. Front desk folks were very polite and professional. I came back after 2pm and the room was ready. I must say I was disappointed to see it. Room and the bathroom was not what I saw on the pictures. Bed was... just bad. And it was not very clean. It’s a great location if you are looking to be on the beach which is walking distance. I was there on the weekend so I can expect people to be having a good time. But I did not expect to hear all the noise Throughout the night. I’m someone who survived through the lives of NYC and Tokyo. Good thing I don’t understand Portuguese or whatever else. Very nice breakfast. Great staff overall.

The property is in a much poorer condition than what is shown in pictures. The bathrooms are really outdated and the walls are extremely thin. You can hear all the doors opening and closing from your room. But on the bright side the location is great it’s about 2 blocks from Copacabana. The staff is also very friendly. You do get what you pay for so if you’re looking for a cheap and ok place to stay in Rio I recommend this hotel .

Tried to give very old not refurbed room

At first we were given a very old room on the first floor that looked nothing like the photos. There was water falling from the ceiling and it was so did by and dark. My booking was also for two double beds and there was only one. After complaining we did chamfer to change to a much better room. Clearly they were refurbishing and wanted to try and give us the bad room without saying. The new room was way better - like the phots and clean. Only problem in the rooms is lighting is veg limited and also the floors are very dirty/sticky.
