I was appalled by the quality of service upon arrival. The Doorman was on his cellphone and paid no attention to us. He later instructed me to remove our vehicle while we were checking in. We did not get porter assistance with our luggage either. The Receptionist had a flu. She had a runny nose and sniffed throughout the check-in process. Worse was to follow when she informed us our prepaid booking did not include breakfast although it did and ignored the Hotels.com proof handed to her. I asked for 2 adjacent rooms as my minor child tends to visit between rooms and instead she allocated us rooms on opposite sides of the passage that were not within sight of each other. Upon discovering this and requesting her to re-allocate the rooms she haughtingly told me the rate we paid for double bed rooms did not allow for this. Her colleague came to our rescue, apologised for the poor treatment she observed and allocated us 2 adjacent rooms. The service manager later informed us he confirmed our booking did indeed include a buffet breakfast and gave us formal apology. Dinner and Breakfast were average. Note for hotel: That completely dried out inedible dried fruit should not be served to anyone at all and be removed from the buffet breakfast. Pre-visit queries should be responded to in a timely manner not 5 days later. Positives: Cleanliness of rooms and hotel. Good location as close to most areas of interest in the city.

I had a few serious problems with the service during my stay. The staff at the reception was neither helpful nor accommodating. Unfortunately I had to be admired into hospital with an allergic reaction. The staff could not indicate the nearest hospital or even give a number for me to contact a doctor. When my wife returned to the hotel after spending the day in hospital with me they could not give her the internet password for my Hilton honors membership. My wife tried to change her breakfast date this was also an issue. Simple things which are not to be expected at a 5 star hotel under our circumstances in a foreign land. She needed to stay a few more days but with this attitude we booked into another hotel ( safari court ) where the staff was absolutely fantastic. I will not return to the Hilton Windhoek

The Hilton Windhoek is a 5 star establishment with very poor service. The reception is poorly trained and they cannot deal with the simplest issue. I had an issue about my breakfast charge and no one offered a solution. I had to extend my stay for 5 more days. I will go somewhere else. It is a shame because we both loose

While the hotel room and reception services were very good, the service at the restaurant was not acceptable. The restaurant had one other customer (couple) and it took 40 min to get a starter (after reminder). The main course took another 25 minutes and I decided to leave the restaurant. After 30 min the dish was brought to my room. I did not receive it. After restaurant I went to the roof top bar. 4 staff were so "busy" with a limited number of customers that I sat there 15 minutes without no service. I left the bar without getting a drink.

As expected of a Hilton, the hotel is well designed and clean. Its the little things that let it down, like having to ask to have your room cleaned. Plenty of hot water, it just takes time to arrive. Rooftop staff very friendly
