Ambleside is applauded for its cultural attractions such as Wordsworth Museum and Beatrix Potter Gallery. This walkable city has something for everyone including sights like Lake Windermere and Ambleside Pier within a small-town setting.
Ambleside has incredible food. Omakase is insane, 8 courses of the most stunning Japanese food, Kysty was equally fantastic with its delicious Michelin lunch menu. All the sights and sounds help work off that food too! Stunning weekend

There are so many choices of places to eat and the bus is central only costing £2.00 per person to many places nearby and you get to enjoy the scenery and no parking. Ambleside has cinemas, a lovely park, lots of independent shops and lovely walks.

Ambleside village is busy with tourists and traffic but lots to do. Some live bands in the evening. Grasmere was a little quieter, ideal base for walks round the lakes and fells. There's a bus to Ambleside from Grasmere.

Beautiful but very busy town, the volume of traffic going through spoiled the atmosphere and I'm sure the air pollution was considerable. Nice to get out into the countryside and away from the cars.
"Relaxing comfortable place by a large lake, easy access to wonderful hikes in the hills.
It’s not terribly busy even in the peak of the summer, it’s away from the crowds."

"Fabulous hotel in the middle of Ambleside.
Staff were all amazing ... fantastic customer service from everyone we encountered. Room was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and very clean and quiet. Plenty of free parking available on site. Public areas were expansive, relaxing and once again very well presented.
We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return trip for a longer period. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to all."
