We've been concerned about the growth of Ubud - traffic, over-building. They are real concerns, but classics like COMO Uma still retain the charm of Ubud. The many steps down and up from the villas may be a concern for some, but we got used to it.

The monkey forest was fun, we were concerned monkeys might try to jump on us and bite us but there was no contact other than that organised by the handlers to get the monkey selfie that everyone wanted. Safe enjoyable experience.

Ubud is what you may call the cultural capital of Bali. Lots of arts and culture to explore with beautiful temples, silver jewelry to buy, the street market with plenty of local fares etc.

Beautiful surroundings with rice fields and jungle. Some amazing dining options and incredible yoga studios. The traffic, however, is something else!

There is so much to do in Ubud. I hired a driver that was recommended by a family member who had just been in Bali. I was able to visit coffee plantation, a scenic lunch overlooking a volcano, traditional village and the costume & mask museum.

The whole area was fascinating. I focused on culture, art and animals (from birds to monkeys) and had great experiences every day. Shopping and food were great and affordable. Prepare yourself, however, for the narrow, congested roads.

"Breakfast was other worldly! Terrace views were great, and the staff even upgraded our room while checking in. Quiet resort with terrific amenities and nice pools!"
"Small but oerfect for us. The pool is very small. But it has a nice living area and bedrooms. The staff were very attentive. It’s walking distance to couple of super makets. It was about 20 mins from UbUD centre "
"The Lokha was the perfect stay in Ubud! It’s walking distance into the centre but with plenty of little cafe and restaurant options close by. Staff were all so wonderful, the yoga and spa areas were gorgeous - all contributed to a really relaxing stay. "
