Not what we expected.
We didn’t get off to a good start as were told no food was available due to a Christmas party being held. We were told we could have the party meal at a cost of £29.99. Having already eaten a main meal we didn’t want another. After complaining to a manager sandwiches were provided. Our room was lovely but there was a few issues. To fill the kettle we had to climb into the bath as the sink was too small to be able to fill the kettle. My husband had problems getting in and out of the shower. He has reduced mobility and no hand rail is provided. The second night we stayed we went down for a drink. The lounge area was very cold. On speaking to one of the owners we understand they have just taken over and have quite a few issues to sort. Overall we were disappointed mostly to do with communication. We should have been told in advance about the limited food options and given the option to cancel or find an alternative. We choose not to eat any other meals at the hotel due to the issues incurred and spent our money in other local venues.
