Historic building BUT not disabled friendly
Generally good stay. Not very enticing view from window of bins! The coffee from the machines in the dining room was really quite horrible to my taste but there was a good coffee shop a few yards away from the hotel reception. Staff generally friendly and happy to help. Very interesting historic building. I would stay again if the opportunity presented - represented reasonable value for money. Not very suitable for people with mobility issues - although there are lifts, there were still many steps to negotiate both in the accommodation area and dining room.

Well its cheap i suppose!
Outside this building looks stunning an imposing, then you come to the doors which are off there hinges, two staff members with no customers left me standing there while the finished a 5 minute chat. Got to the room, took my shoes off and its probably cleaner to walk bearfoot outside in the mud. Thrn with in 5 minutes the power went out for 2 hour's. They didnt know if i could have food or not. I found someone elses crisp packet left in the room by the tv. Actually shockingly bad

Beautiful location and surroundings
We had a lovely stay and the location and village that it is situated in is beautiful. The hotel is very tired and needs an overhaul. The food fills a hole and is nothing to write home about. The view out of our window was just of nettles we probably had the worst view in the whole hotel. The bathroom needs to be redone and the sliding doors of the wardrobe were dangerous. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfy. If the inside of the hotel matched the outside it would be amazing

Beautiful location, just needs a few tweaks.
We stayed in a suite and it was beautiful and clean. It was so hot though. There were 2 fans but as there was only one window you couldn't open more than an inch, it just blew hot air around. It was only 23 degrees c during the day but because we were on the top floor the room held a lot of heat. We explored the beautiful grounds but it was a bit disappointing to see litter and broken glass around. You have to pay to use the pool/spa. When we went in the morning the spa pool was empty, they told us it would be working in the afternoon. We went there in the afternoon, it was working on one side, bubbles were only coming out of one side. If you book dinner, get in there early or you'll be left with the scraps.
