We arrived in town on a Thursday afternoon and they had closed a main road and set up a market with food stalls, live music and local items/ bric a brac that you could buy. Loads of atmosphere and safe to walk around it was a great stop on our trip.

It was very hot during our visit so not great for walking. The "downtown" and shops were spread out more than we realized so we drove most places. We did walk around downtown after driving to dinner one night. Recommend the tram ride and hike at top.

We love Palm Springs! We love the lgbtq influence on the local culture, we love the old hollywood influence, we absolutely love the high number of adults-only hotels and restaurants. Part of the appeal of Palm Springs is the lack of children!

The food scene in and around DT Palm Springs is terrific. Really enjoyed 1501 Gastropub. Will be trying out more great food places the next time we get back. Walking downtown was a hoot with the specialty shops and people watching.

If you have a chance, I highly recommend heading to the Living Zoo and Garden over near Palm Desert (about 20-30 minutes from the V). We also love the Palm Greens Cafe in Palm Springs for vegan and plant based breakfast and lunch.

Much different than anything else in California. Love the art deco, 60s vibe, amazing architecture and the history. Also didn't miss the busy streets and traffic of some of the larger cities and downtown is really interesting!

The outdoor activities (Indian Canyon, Tahquitz Canyon) that are managed by the Aqua Caliente tribe limit the amount of people at each location in an effort to protect the land. On busy days, they close the gates early.
