A good affordable motel.
The Surf Motel was very accommodating in re-arranging the dates of my stay. The front desk staff was also very helpful. The rooms were clean and well organized. The motel also had secured parking. The rates were also very affordable. I would definitely stay there again.

SCUM OF hotel's in SF is SURF HOTEL Lumbar
We asked for room service to have our room cleaned they did not grant us that wish we stayed there for 3 weeks without one day of getting the room service , their manager Jon was very disrespectful as we requested to have our room cleaned ; he told us that the hotel was for people of lower class and if we didn't like the way they ran the hotel we could live that's what we did... ( NEVER GO HERE AGAIN OR USE THEM AND I ASK OF YOU NOT TO GO IF YOU WANT MY HONEST OPINION )

Great spot
Surprisingly it was a pretty quiet room, for being on lombard st I was surprised. Rooms clean and tidy. Its not a 5 star by any means, but is 5 star for what you paid for. Lots of great funky resturants around just. ablock away. I woiuld stay here again for sure. Included Parking is a big plus!

The room was clean but the bathroom doesn't have an exhaust system that after taking a bath everything you hold on to is moist & wet. The bath towels are thin due to prolonged usage. There's no hair dryer no laundry facilities & request for room cleaning is not guaranteed. But as a whole I will give it 3 stars.

We stayed in a deluxe room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean, and it was nice to have the extra space, a fridge, a microwave, and a small kitchen sink. However, there were only 4 hangers, no hair dryer and no coffee maker. I couldnt get the TV to show anything but the USA channel. There were no toiletries other than shampoo and soap attached to the wall of the shower. The bed was ok if you like a mattress that is somehow hard and squishy at the same time. Those who prefer flat, hard pillows will be in heaven. I asked the front desk for extra pillows and hangers, not once but twice, and they never brought any or got back to me. So I didnt see any point in asking for a hair dryer or a coffee maker. On the bright side, this is a good neighborhood for restaurants and coffee shops. This is not the worst hotel Ive stayed at, by a long shot. If the amenities and the customer service had been better, I would stay here again.

Simple. Old school style hotel. Front desk clerk helped with card key when entering our room. A little tricky and weird but it worked. Overall stay was good for a one night i wouldnt stay longer. Walking disrance to some cool mom and pop shops
