Lovely hotel for Valentines Day weekend
We really enjoyed our stay at The Camano Island Inn. The host, Charlene, was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and the views were great. Thank you!

We had a great time staying here! It could use some updating and there was no ac which made for some warmer nights, but it had everything we needed. There is not staff there all the time so it felt more like an Airbnb. The bistro isn’t open, but we found a breakfast place at the Cama Beach State Park that was delicious and just 5 minutes down the road. The views were beautiful and there was beach access so we could take our paddle boards right down to the water. Would stay here again for sure!

No hot water, door lock broken, extremely hot upstairs but no AC. Pictures and any good reviews from like 20 years ago.

I had a wonderful, quiet stay at this undiscovered little inn. I, quite literally, never saw another person, including staff. Someone must have been there though as there was coffee made each morning. My room info came via text, and worked flawlessly. My only critique would be that the toilet bolts in room 3 need to be tightened as the « throne » was a little wobbly.

Excellent view from room. Quiet. There wasn’t employees around, room did not get cleaned while we were there. No fridge in room, but you could use the one in the kitchen. TV is very small. The negatives would be fine if the price reflected it. FYI we called to add an additional night and the price charged by the property was considerably less than the price on Expedia.

I’m sure this is a nicer place when their bistro is up and running. However, there is no air conditioning and no microwave in the rooms. Don’t go there when it is 80° or more in the area. The temperature in your room will be unbearable. We were booked and paid for 2 nights, but didn’t want to stay for night 2, and we just left.

Booked two nights for my partner's birthday. There was a small mix-up with the reservation but they upgraded our room easily. We had the whole place to ourselves. Quiet, beautiful property and the staff was incredible. Will definitely be back again.

Bad choice
Don’t believe Hotels.com there is and never has been a Bistro no breakfast, the worst coffee I’ve ever had, and it will be cold. This was a disgusting experience. We are in different properties 270 days a year. This for the price was by far the worst.

There is no coffee in the room. No food service at all. The property is “tired”, needs some updating. Never once saw a staff member.

The location is great! We enjoyed the beach and sunset. We were in unit 8 since we had 3 adults and was the only unit to accommodate us. The sofa bed was not comfortable at all and made loud noises each time we moved in it so we did not sleep well. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. Very nice hosts.

It was a comfortable room but needs some updating. There were several small wall heaters and the shower stall was extremely small. It reminded me of a camper shower.

Hassel to track down anyone to provide check-in instructions, asked about drinking water staff unresponsive. Tampons on the floor which means the room wasn't cleaned, flies all over the cups ..

In its day it was a nice place, but is by far what it is now. And don't be fooled by the pictures of the rooms. They are not like that they are grossly misrepresented. And beware there is no air conditioning.very uncomfortable at 95 degrees. The only good i found to say here is the Inn keeper was very nice and did her best to accommodate us. Find another place if you can this is not the one.

There was no staff on the property and we had not given our cell phone, which was the only way to get a code to enter. We finally got in touch with the owner and got a code. We had no hot water and the TV didn’t work properly. Not a good experience. We are requesting a refund.

Not great. Won't stay again.
The room was not as advertised online. My room was very small with no amenities (and no hot tub as advertised). The restaurant never reopened after Covid, so there's no food service at the hotel. There's also no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms, so you have to either go out and eat or bring it back and eat it on the bed as there's no table in the room (at least the one I stayed in). The walls are also very, very thin so you can hear everything happening in the room(s) around you. I also couldn't ever figure out how to access the beach from the hotel. I had to get in my car and drive to a beach 10 mins away. I was quite disappointed and cut my stay short.

our room was not clean it was very hot out so we took our shoes and socks off when we got in the room with in a few hours the bottom of our feet were black we had to wash them to go to bed the floor almost felt gritty went took take a shower and had to clean a fair amount of hair out of it from the people before us they warned us that it takes a while to get hot water which was ok but they did not tell you that it goes freezing cold every 30 seconds then back to hot on a positive side the lady that call us with the door code was very nice and helpful

What a charming inn on some of the most spectacular private coastline in the Pacific Northwest. We loved our spot, feet up on our own private balcony watching Blue Heron, Bald Eages, etc. and boats going by, wandering down the path to the pebble beach below, picking blackberries... Idyllic. Our innkeeper, Charlene was so accommodating, SO hardworking. She was constantly cleaning, prepping, on the go, and yet took all the time in the world to chat with us about the Inn, local attractions, eateries etc. This is an older inn in a rustic setting, and if you don't do charming and rustic, this is not the spot for you. Keep to your 5 star resorts in the city and miss out on the sheer beauty and tranquility of this place. Prior to our stay, we read some scathing reviews on popular sites, but decided to risk it. Thank goodness. And all we have to say about the vehement attacks posted on line, is that those folks are used to being pampered and waited on, and need to stay well away from this amazing little place. Only one note .... Very few units, only one unit, #8, is on the little country road, and not oceanfront, so we would recommend asking for the oceanfront, which all others are ....Enjoy!!

Horrible! Save your money unless you like spiders
Let start with the fact that I am not picky and never review places…our stay was horrible! We never saw an employee the entire time. It was self check-in (cool) but once you got the code to the front door, your room information & code was in an unsecured envelope so anyone checking in before you could in theory get your code. The entire place needed upkeep. The hall way carpeting was filthy; lots of cob webs on light fixtures. The door to the patio was blocked all weekend for “wet paint” so we couldn’t utilize the patio. The grounds where sad and not attended too. Ignore the beautiful pictures of the gardens; they don’t exist. There were tons of huge blackberries so bring a bucket if that’s your thing. We walked the path to the beach & my dream of reading in a comfy adirondack chair was dashed as they don’t exist. LOTS of spiders IN THE ROOM. One was on the ceiling over the bed when we got there, one dropped down on us watching a movie, two lived in the bathroom & there were two HUGE ones at different times; one we left in the bathroom as we quickly departed & one is now a black spot on the carpet. The bedroom carpet was old and lifting. Both my husband & myself punctured our feet on carpet tacks. The shades don’t fully close so it was bright when trying to sleep. Breakfast was simply a standard continental. Shower drain didn’t work well so at the end of the shower was standing in 3” of water. The good: quiet and the bed was comfy

Little gestures would go a long way.
The inn is an old established property. We have been there prior, and love spending hours on the rocky beach. We bring our own food and use the inn's refrigerator, toaster and microwave. Dishes, knives, forks, bottled water and regular coffee [in the AM] are available. I brought my decaf, and the staff set me up with a separate coffee maker. Room was clean, with a very comfortable bed. The staff was both pleasant and helpful. We never used the hot tub on either trip, and I think it would be nice to have table and chairs for the room decks instead. Trimming the ivy so guests could see the beach from their rooms would be incredible. Updating with a small refrigerator and fan even though it cools down at night, would be a nice gesture. An ice machine somewhere on site would go a long, long way. The upstairs balcony is beautiful with great seating and view. A perfect place for a hot tub and propane firepit in the evenings if either were available. I still love coming here and I hate to see it disappear because of bad reviews. It is a peaceful, quiet getaway, just be prepared to be self-reliant which I've seen with other hotels in the area. Getting to the beach below the property can be a tricky maneuver. I'm in my late 70's however and with a helpful hand made it down just fine. Visit the Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve for a great day at a sandy beach. Wakeup/light up the inn, make it attractive to old/new guests so we can keep coming back for years to come.
