Great hotel, see you again soon
A great stay, everything we needed with fantastic staff. Room was great, beds comfortable and best breakfast I've had in a hotel for years. Staff were warm and friendly, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back.

Friendly and convenient.
We booked at the last minute, having missed our last train home. The lounge area is bright and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Very convenient for the railway station and the town centre.

A comfortable stay and friendly staff
Vegan selection for breakfast was quite poor and having a room that overlooked the pub opposite (Jailor's Barrel) meant noise into the night but otherwise was comfortable and staff very friendly.

Bed was comfy, but the shower didn't work, no water pressure to the upper floors, and heating you had limited control over.

Valentine’s delight of a hotel
Excellent Period property. As an older building we were unsure what to expect but it’s immaculate throughout. Staff were incredibly friendly and we were delighted to be checked in 3 hours prior to the arranged time. Couldn’t be more conveniently located a minute walk from the castle and the Main Street where all the shops, bars and restaurants are. They don’t have onsite parking but there is a very safe pay and display car park 3 minutes walk away which was only £14 for 24 hours. That’s much cheaper than any other city hotel I’ve ever been to. We will be back. We really enjoyed our stay and the city.

Great location. Staff friendly and welcoming. Rooms and beds comfortable. Bathrooms could do with a little upgrade but overall fine for a night stay.

Decent for short stay
A one night business trip. Last minute booking. Entrance and public areas looked really nice. Room was clean and bed comfy but very short, my feet hung off the end and I’m only 5’10. Also room was freezing despite radiator being on full- in fairness temps outside were in the minus and the windows didn’t look fully modern as they fitted (well) with the period of the property. Staff were friendly.

A pleasant property, extremely well located for the town centre and for public transport links.

Staff are lovely and the building has some nice old touches. The bar area and restaurant are nice but the rooms although clean could do with some updating. I stayed ina standard room wich was functional and cleanly decorated but the bathroom was a little dated. I would stay again though.

Central for our sight seeing trip in Lancaster. The two door lift is great. Breakfast was lovely. Our room was warm, with ensuite bathroom, very hot water and beds very comfortable.

Lovely stay, great room. Spa facilities are fantastic. Possibly an upgrade to the exterior as the inside is superb.

Room was nice bathroom was very poor, shower didn’t work and there was dirt on floor
Gill, 1-night trip

Never again.
So I paid extra and booked a so called superior room. The room was small and very dated, it was freezing and the bathroom was even colder. I went to reception and asked why I wasn’t in a superior room and was told that I was. I asked for a heater and after arguing my case for five mins she finally decided to let me have one. I’d already booked a table for dinner at 19:00 hrs but decided that if this is how they were going to treat me I would nip to a local shop instead so I had a sandwich and crisps for dinner. While I was at the shop they put a small oil radiator in my room but it was still cold. At this point I jumped in the shower to warm up and went straight to bed at around 20:15 hrs.

June stay
Very central location . Bedrooms very dated and lacking decent night blinds so sun woke us early . Staff very friendly . Breakfast overly expensive so we used a cafe in town

It's a place to lay your head
It's "OK", there are a lot better places to stay in Lancaster.
2-night trip

6/10 Good

I used my Tesco club card vouchers towards my double room. It would have been £80 but had a discounted price of £50. I was disappointed with the room. Furniture in room should be replaced - poor state. Bedside lamp shade falling out of lamp holder. Sink in bathroom- grotty and bath sealant grotty. I didn’t like being on the third floor . It didn’t have a good feel to it. The reception is lovely and bar. Didn’t dine at the hotel but looked very inviting.
Kay, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The room was nice and clean with an oldie worldie feel to it. We had an upgrade to a room nearer the lift due to my wheel chair which was fab What let them down was hospitality service. We asked if we were able to get food at 4:30 pm as we had an event to go to early. We were told no problem. (They had a wedding and a 50th party on) We sat down at 4:30pm and had to wait 30 mins to be told what was dairy free on the menu before we could order. The staff didn’t seem to know and were waiting on the chef. We got food at 5:35 with barely time to eat it as we had to leave at 5:45pm They were apologetic and offered extra free food when we got back. We weren’t hungry so asked for toast and tea. Breakfast was similar. Lovely food but we sat down and then several others did and they got asked for orders before us. There didn’t seem enough staff on and everyone was so laid back that they forgot that people need attending to. Such a shame the food service side let it down as the food was lovely as was the room.

Beds are a bit hard to sleep on and could do with drawers for clothes in rooms. Excellent staff, really friendly and right next to town so was good.
