Stayed for 2 nights, didnt replace bottled water, Coffee, milks sugar etc for second night let alone make the bed. Also was a cost to using the facilities pool etc which was highlighted when booking despite lots of pictures of a lovely pool. Paid a lot and didnt get much. would have been just as well of in a Premier Inn/ Travelodge.

Grounds and views stunning but hotel rooms tired and old fashioned and not the cleanest but ok, building is like a maze and only a couple of lifts going to different parts of the building. Not accessible really for those with poor mobility and quite pricey for what it is. Bar very expensive.

It would have been helpful to know about the road closures nearby. I had a very interesting tour of the back lanes around the Peak District which Google managed admirably until depositing me at a farmhouse. Luckily I’m from N Devon, used to Exmoor lanes, and a farmer myself!

The Hotel lioked amazing from the outside, the grounds surrounding it was lovely.
I did find the bedrooms are a bit off a letdown, i found the room was not very welcoming and a bit dilapidated, for the price off the rooms ,but otherwise clean.
Myself and my partner wete going to use thd facilities but due to the costs off these wed opted out .

Beautiful hotel in beautiful (golf course) grounds. Food adequate. Room (245) was pleasant but double glazing poor as spent the night listening to a screech owl in adjacent trees - so minimal sleep! Also room was set up for single occupancy with no bedside lamp on one side of bed. And, noise insulation between rooms and between room and corridor poor.
Overall, disappointing return to an hotel we last visited some years ago.

I can see why people get married here, the grounds are stunning. Unfortunately the rooms are not upto the same standard. We stayed in room 206 which was a big room with lovely views but the furniture was very outdated and some of it broken. The jacuzzi bath was filthy and was broken. Windows were dirty and lots of things covered in dust. Would have liked to have used the pool but was far too expensive. Breakfast was lovely

The hotel overall, was tired and all communal areas were dirty.
Our room was so far away from reception we were almost in a different postcode to the main hotel.
One of our party had limited mobility and traversing the hotel was incredibly challenging with lifts out of order and a ‘rabbit warren’ of corridors that are not signposted clearly.
On the way to our room (357) the corridors are strewn with mismatched dusty, stained furniture that clearly looks as though they have been dumped there for want of a better place to put them.
The carpets, doors and walls are worn and dirty.
The bathroom clearly hadn’t been refurbished since the 90’s. It was old and appeared dirty and stained.
Breakfast was far from adequate in a room that had stained furniture and disgusting carpets. Poor choice of continental breakfast foods.
I will be placing a review on trip advisor and contacting the manager
