Amazing hotel in a great location
Great hotel. Great service. Executive room was almost perfect, my only criticism is there was a few scuffs on the wallpaper next to the bed. Ablpart from that the stay was next to none.

Room with a view, how wonderful!
This hotel is truly wonderful, the friend I was traveling with gave it 15/10. We knew it would be good but the wonderful staff make it GREAT. We can’t wait to stay again, many thanks for making our stay so memorable.

Dissapointed
Booked for one night, for husbands birthday treat. We also booked another room for our nephew, and partner, to join us. First impression, beautiful from the outside, great greeting, smooth checkin. Unfortunately, dissapointing, from there on. The rooms are dated, and rundown. Many problems with furnishings etc, ie handle on toilet, broken. Handle on draws missing, small things, which could easily be remedied. We were in room 412, very small, with a view of a wall, which when visiting chester, would have liked to see the world go by. Our booking included breakfast, which was delightful, pastries, full english, the works. When something, looks to good to be true, it normally is, which we found out on check-out. We had a charge of £19 for breakfast for two. When I questioned this, i was told, only continental breakfast was included, which was not mentioned, on check-in, or whilst in the breakfast hall. Even when we asked the young lady, who served us "what is included in the breakfast" she replied "everything". All in all, i would not say the hotel, was a 5 star, more like a 4. The rooms need a serious refurbishment, given the reputation the grosvenor has.

Underneath the glitzy wrapping pape, quite average
Clean but no more clean than i would expect from any hotel i were paying for. The bath would have benefited from a scrub to remove the tied mark of skin collections. General maintenance - shower screen leaked profusely and the bath tap was broken. General decor and comfort - classically comfortable and bed and sofa comfortable Breakfast - cooked to perfection however we won two wars on baked beans, it is a travesty to even consider serving a traditional breakfast without. Hospitality - service excellent, they cannot do enough but it will cost you and at an extremely over inflated price. Complimentary items are lovely quality but few and far between considering the price of rooms. In summary an average hotel providing a nice service but i would say about 40% overpriced for the product and service purchased. Relying on the prestige of one's own name without a genuine inclination to go above and beyond.
