Xmas shopping trip to Chester
Catered to our needs well. Addressed our concern promptly and fed us well and affordably.

Clean & large room value for money
Stayed overnight room large & comfortable with everything you needed. Clean bedding & towels. Bonus of the large pub underneath. Value for money food & drink. Loved the large tvs showing all football games. Could do with security lights up the side when leaving in the dark ! Large car park straight on the main road. Thank you will stay again

Small, clean and reasonable
The check-in staff was fantastic. She ensured we were welcome and checked in efficiently. The room was clean if small and too hot. Clean towels were available and discounts available through the blue light card. Enough condiments for two cuppas would have been welcomed, and maybe a biscuit. Overall, the room served its purpose as we stayed one night for the Christmas market.

N&C Visit Chester
We had a lovely time, friendly, helpful staff, good location with a short walk into Chester but on the way I would recommend a stop in Hoole high street, I would stay here again

A basic room but clean and not too small. We were judging stopping off en route to somewhere else so it was perfect for our needs. Friendly staff

Great Place
Great place to stay a short walk into town. Great sized room and lovely beer garden. The only issue was that breakfast did not include any cold drinks e.g. water or juice

Plenty of off street parking at no extra charge. A little out of town but only a 20 minute walk in to Chester centre or a £5 Uber. Co-op nearby for supplies. Room warm and clean. Perhaps a little more water pressure on the shower but still serviceable. Did not dine here but looked like usual pub grub on offer in any other Greene King outlet. Would certainly stay here again if back in Chester for the races or any other reason. Summing it up, a pleasurable, safe stay. Thank you team Oaklands

The Oaklands is a nice hotel with a great bar and beer garden. It is relatively close to the centre, you can walk. The room is nothing special but everything works. Easy to park.

The room was excellent! Great bed and spacious room! It needed an elevator. Way too many stairs for my husband and I. The food downstairs was great for the price!
Joyce, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Not somewhere I would recommend.
Initial room was flooded with leak in the bathroom from floor above. When I arrived at reception I stood for 5 mins before being acknowledged from bar staff. General cleanliness of tables, carpets, and who place was tired and old. When ordering food at the bar my first 4 choices were not available.

Comfy Zone
It was comfortable stay with excellent food served down stairs. Clean rooms and Bathroom. Bathed or had a shower 2 x a day. Brilliant feeling fresh all the time. Did my shopping and other business. A excellent place to stay being only 5 mins from the centre. King kabs great for travel to and from the hotel. My second stay at the hotel.

Chester Teacher Training College annual reunion.
Great location with ample parking. Not many premises in Chester have so many TV screens with the bar atmosphere and a very good food menu. Some beers where off but still plenty of options to choose from. I will be staying there next year on the corresponding weekend with my friends from 50 years ago.

6/10 Good

Overall out stay was good, staff were friendly and really helpful, food waa great, room comfortable but....lots of paint chipping off the wall which waa really unsightly! Bathroom great, would stay again ut definitely not in room 11 unless redecorated!

This is a pub with rooms and while loving football, I was initially concerned about the number of TVs in the pub area. Definitely a popular locals pub. However, the property is run very well, with a strict 11.30pm out policy. It was a Friday night and by 11pm there were only a few stragglers left who could have been staying. The rooms were very good value for money, clean and comfy beds. Our party had two rooms, all slept really well and we commented how quiet it was. Only thing to note from an accessibility point of view our rooms had showers over baths. Staff were friendly and polite. Thank you for a relaxing night ready for a uni tour on the Saturday.

Oaklands Hotel
Jemma bar lovely - breakfast great - food reasonable - upgraded to room 10 however no drawers or wardrobe 3 hangers on wall exposed pipes made room hot - bathroom updated good - You could save on electricity as tvs and lights on early morning in lounge etc could turn off and section areas for eating am. Varnish on tables and other areas could be painted regularly for max effect. Tables sticky cleaning fluid perhaps/ however staff and all else fine. Comments for benefit of yourselves as worked in leisure all working life. Minimum attention for maximum rewards Thanks

You know what you are getting
For £75 and for one night it was perfect. I like the busy aspect of the pub downstairs. Typical Hungry Horse so you know what you are getting. Loads of TV's with the football on. Nice pint, and typical pub grub. Hotel aspect is a bit different. Nothing like a holiday inn or Premier in, but perfectly acceptable for the price. Not a place for a romantic weekend, but for a night at work ok. I was in Room 5 which was probably the largest physical room I have ever seen. Bed was comfortable, but duvet was thinner than I would have liked. Little bit tired around the edges, but again for the cost all ok and free parking. Breakfast was limited, but for £9 I left feeling full. I would stop again.
