The check in staff was very pleasant, and was able to accomdate our request for adjoining rooms facing the lake. The room size was very adequate for european hotes, and the furnishings were not so cookie cutter in each room that it had a sterile feeling to it. Each room was slightly different, and had been well prepared and cleaned before, and during our visit. The front desk staff speaks very good english considering it is somewhat off the beaten path, although still close driving distance to Munich. The town of Spitzingee was cool, little ski area, great paths around lake and very close to the entire area, so if you like to hike this is an awesome place. The breakfast buffet in hotel is not outstanding, but also not mediocre, it does the trick with good quality food and pleasant staff. The bar at night was not full at all, except on a few nights of the world cup. In the summer time, if no evetns like world cup you will need to go into town for excitement or interacting with larger groups of people. Gym and pool are both very nice, well maintained, no issues or complaints. Also has some nice sauna areas, once again clean and well maintained. Parking underneath costs 10E a day if i recall, but if you are creative you can find free parking outside of building and close to hotel. In wintertime spend the money for the underground parking! Plan a day trip down to Innsbruck, or many of the castles in surrounding area.
