Total overkill with the security to a point that it feels like a prison and ALL those security dudes are prison guards looking at everyone with their unfriendly and smug faces as if you really are a prisoner! There are literally security guards in military uniforms, boots and whatever they’re carrying walking in the lobby.

The hotel rooms are quite nice, Room service menu is limited and the breakfast buffet is weak. Anderson was an amazingly helpful waiter. The pool area is not maintained at a high level and has inconsistent service, but poolside food was good. Nice location at a relatively quiet beach. Taxis are needed to go out for dining as there is not much nearby but Leblon has great restaurants only 10min away by car.

We stayed one extra night after staying with our tour group. The location is about 15 min drive from the hustle and bustle of ipanema beaches. I prefer it. It was quieter, safer and had more of a resort feel. Not as many characters selling random things on the beach. Restaurants were good. Service was great. Nice pool and sauna. We went to the spa twice! Prices are good compared to US spa services. The ocean front rooms are spectacular. Mountain View is also nice.

Excellent for couples and families. Not so much for single people as I discovered when I arrived. Not in a touristy area. More in a residential area but on the beach. It's close to a small mall that that doesn't have much. However, the hotel rooms have outstanding views of the ocean and a resort vibe. The internet was surprisingly fast and reliable most of the time compared to other hotels in Brazil which are 90% of the time horrible. Next time I come there I will definitely bring someone with me since it appears to be mainly for couples and families.
