Great spot.. beautiful architecture and decorated for the Christmas season. It is in a great location close to restaurants and bars. Had trouble getting hot water at night and in the morning for shower, but when I called them about it, they waived resort fee.

Don’t stay here, stay at the Marriott lol
I booked through the app for a 2 night stay for a spontaneous trip to the mission inn, paid around $500 thru this app & I got there and I got to the front desk to check in and noticed a small group of pilots & flight attendants waiting to be checked in, so I stood behind them in line and quickly realized that I knew it was going to be difficult to check in, I didn’t know how or why but seeing the issues that were already happening with the southwest employees had me scared. Not sure exactly what happened but they walked away super upset, so my turn next, she couldn’t find my reservation, my prepaid reservation, i literally had all the receipts & everything & she than proceeded to tell me there’s nothing she can do and I would have to resolve it with hotels.com!! So there I was standing there already for 15 minutes trying to get my reservation found; mind you it’s kind of late & it’s me and my 5 year old son at 8:00pm & not a manager in site who could resolve it. All of a sudden a guy and his bride (literally still in her wedding dress) interrupt us super angry talking about “how much longer do I have to wait to get help with getting in my room, we’ve been waiting for 30 mins in the cold…) 10 mins later, she’s back to helping me, tells me I have to either pay again or I’m SOL, because she couldn’t find my reservation. I choose to pay again, she than tells me the price is $490 A NIGHT,heck no, I want what I paid $480 for 2 nights!After a few mins she fixes the price & I stay

Really noisy!
The grounds were very cool and fun to explore and I'm sure our stay would have been nicer had we not been put in the corner room of the building on the first floor. We heard the lots of traffic,the crosswalk signal and every word that anyone spoke while walking by. It was a long sleepless night needless to say. The room was was clean but in major need of updating. Unfortunately, because we booked through a third party, we have no recourse and they couldn't do anything to rectify the sitiation except to wave the resort fee (which never happened) and tell us to book a more deluxe room next time and it would most likely be quieter. No problem, I highly doubt we'll return.

the hotel is beautiful. our room shown in the Hotels.com photo vs. the room we got was different which was disappointing - we booked the Glenwood King, which was confirmed at the property, but when we went into the room, it looked more plain, like a Deluxe room. It could be that the photo just is not updated. Still, it was a great weekend away.

The Amazing Mission Inn in Riverside
It was a beautiful, amazing, fairy tale like place and very gorgeous. The festival of Lights made it more beautiful. All friendly staff except for the front desk that very rude and gave us no information. Unfortunately the Catacomb tour was booked. Definitely will come back again

Staff atitude, stain in the bathroom wall
The lady that helped us check in was unnecessarily rude, i think her name is Kendra? Im not sure. I called to request to be assigned close to my mom room, my mom also called a day after me to make sure our room gonna be close to each other. They said yes, they already wrote that on the notes. By the time we checked in she said she couldn’t accommodate us cause be requesting from third party something like that? Eventho we called the hotel twice. She didn’t even mention where our room located at (its our first time here) she just left after she checked us in so we had to ask another nice lady at the front desk. The restroom has a black stain on the wall. Probably not coming back, but the guy that work night shift were really nice. I asked for a bottle of water and he made it happen.

We went for the Festival of Lights and it certainly did not disappoint! They were fabulous! The trick when traveling in December to the Mission is to book your dinner reservations way early! Our room was comfortable but very loud from the crowds. But it was an adventure I did enjoy and recommend!

Shabby, poorly run hotel
Shabby, rundown hotel. Service was excruciatingly slow at the front desk, bar and restaurant. We stayed at this hotel to see the holiday decorations, which were very beautiful. Our room was large, with a sofa but the layout was odd. For example, we could not see the TV from the sofa, only the bed. We had drinks at the Presidential Lounge. The drinks were terrible and the service was worse. Dinner at Duane's, the steak and seafood restaurant was infuriating. It is very expensive, which we knew going in. An 8 oz. filet mignon costs $76. We are getting older, so we typically share meals. Duane's charges $20 to split an entree and $20 TO SPLIT A SIDE - to slice a baked potato in half. My husband ordered the filet and potato. I ordered a plate. When we were seated the diners next to us left. For the entire hour and forty-five minutes we were there (waiting and waiting and waiting) that table sat un-bused, with the dirty dishes and napkins in my direct line of sight. This is Applebee's level dining at tippy top prices. The steak was good, the potato average.

I was shocked so to speak. I grew up in Southern California and liked to go to the Mission Inn to see the Christmas lights and this year decided to stay over while meeting friends for dinner. Dinner was a delight! However when I return to my room the first thing I encountered was an overflowing toilet. I called twice. Gentleman finally came and fixed it. Then I noticed there was mold in the toilet. And then I noticed there was a bathtub ring of dirt like the bathtub had not been cleaned since it was used by someone at some time. Very disappointing! I reported my experiences during checkout and got a bland response.

Ridiculously noisy.
Extremely noisy. Our room overlooked the pedestrian mall and there was a guy playing the drums and loud music from the time we checked in at 5pm until 10:30, when the police showed up and shut him down. I had to call your security office twice about it and the police finally did show up. It was ridiculous that that is allowed to be played right where dozens of your rooms have customers. When I went to take a shower this morning, it didn’t work. When I pulled the nozzle up to have the water come out of the shower head, nothing happened. The bed and pillows, though, were very comfy.

We had a wonderful time. We came for Festival of Lights at Christmas. So beautiful. The hotel is georgeous and we explored the whole beautiful place. This place puts a smile on your face.
