Location is very convenient. Hotel itself is exactly what you pay for. Kind of grimy, shower had some soap stains and the rooms are very ugly, but otherwise everything worked (AC, toilet, mini fridge). Good to stay at if you need to crash for a day or 2 and want to spend minimal money.

The Stillwell Hotel is definitely an older hotel, so just know what to expect going in. The building and rooms have that older smell, the rooms are small, the beds are on the smaller side, and everything could definitely use some updating. That being said, they do their best to keep the place clean, and for the price, it served its purpose. If you’re looking for something modern or upgraded, this probably isn’t the place. I personally probably wouldn’t stay here again, but for what I needed on this trip, it was good enough and got the job done.

Staff were excellent, very friendly. Building is just super old and in desperate need of an overhaul. Showerhead was so low i had to bend down in awkward ways to get clean. They have the hardest beds and pillows ive ever experienced. The carpets didnt seem like theyve had a proper cleaning in some time. All in all, its a serviceable place to sleep, as long as you are not picky about your bedding, and a short walk to the Convention Center and many places to eat.

Stayed at this hotel, I liked that it’s super close to the Crypto arena, and lots of food nearby, grocery store etc. the staff was friendly. The room was as advertised. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary but it had what I needed and for the price you won’t find anything cheaper that close. Very vintage building so that was cool.

The building is old and the rooms are basic, but it's super clean and the staff is very professional. I really love staying here and will probably choose this place over others during my next visit. It's very easy to get to the metro from here. The Indian restaurant on the first floor is pretty good, too.

Spent a week here and was quite content. The staff was laid-back and friendly. My room was clean, larger than expected and surprisingly quiet at night, even though it overlooked a major street. Granted, the Stillwell opened in 1906 and definitely looks it. Its once-modest grandeur has faded. If you're looking for modern and fancy, find a different hotel. But if you're a fan of Film Noir B-Movies and ghostly old buildings with character, the Stillwell's silent, slightly melancholy vibe might be up your street. P.S. The Stillwell sits at the edge of downtown L.A.'s former theatre district. I didn't encounter the spirits of any failed vaudevillian magicians, washed-up ventriloquists, or broken-hearted chorus girls. But I'm sure they were still hanging around. Maybe I'll meet them during my next stay.

The location is perfect for visiting the Orpheum Theater. This is an old hotel that is not pretty, but it was safe, comfortable and clean.
