First night in Johannesburg
The hotel stay was good, but at the lower end of good. The gentleman who checked us in presented as very indifferent. Within 30 min of checking in we noticed that bathroom sink/face basin was not draining. Complained about it to the same person who checked us in, he assured us that he will get maintenance to fix it and after 3 hrs or so it was not fixed. Went back downstairs and complained to another worker who gave us instructions on how to fix the issue, but we were unable to do it. He came upstairs and said one of us should put our hands in the sink “filled with dirty water” to unplug the sink. I then asked him to do it instead of asking us to do it, and he said it was unsanitary. I then said well if its unsanitary why are you asking us to do it. Anyway maintenance came and fixed it. The maintenance worker was pleasant and engaging. I paid for a party of three but only got two bath towels, another story but at the end we got the towel. Breakfast was included which I wasn’t aware of. I am not a breakfast person but the breakfast was buffet style and it was amazing. The restaurant staff were pleasant and attentive. Will I stay there again, probably yes!
