The hotel is situated ideally in the historic district of Heidelberg, along the river Neckar, right at the entrance to the famous "Alte Brücke" that crosses it and provides an excellent view of the castle. Facing the river and the bridge, the view from my room was stunning.
The room for one person was small but not cramped, very clean, with nice wooden furniture that included a comfortable bed with quality bedding.
The hotel is in an historic building, but the renovated, tiled bathroom with corner shower did not show that. The only complaint I had was that the water in the shower would change temperature unexpectedly.
I purchased the "business breakfast", consisting of coffee, orange juice, fresh rolls, lunch meat, cheese and jelly; I did not observe what the more expensive buffet style breakfast included.
The hotel lobby and facilities are furnished in an older style that I found inviting; everything is kept very neat and clean. Despite this being an old building, there are elevators to get to the upper floors.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful - overall this was a pleasurable stay and I would certainly go back.
