This was a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to a relaxing week in the sun enjoying my time. Instead I got rubbished a checkin because I was an Expedia gold member and had to ask multiple times for the perks to be added. The pool bar staff were friendly as long as you wore overly skimpy swimwear and drank like a fish making yourself drunk by 1030 One chef at the beach grill actually threw food at me. When I complained I got a “sorry” then nothing. There were good parts. The Japanese teppanyaki was great and fun. Wait staff in the lobby were friendly. The bar staff not so much. I enjoyed the water and my time out of the hotel on a day trip to Isla Catalina. I wouldn’t come back

Estuve 5 dias en Bahia Princess Luxury Ambar y por momentos tuve duda por algunos comentarios, pero mi experiencia fue Excelente. Las comidas de muy buen nivel. Limbo un restaurant excelente Gourmet, Portofino excelente comida Italiana y el Steakhouse la atencion Buena no excelente aunque la comida muy Buena. Palmira excelente muy variado. La atencion de todo el personal del Hotel es muy buena. Alexandra en la playa es de las mejores... Siempre atenta y amable dispuesta a atenderte de la mejor manera. Sin duda volvere... Lo recomiendo. Siempre puede haber algun detalle pero no para bajarle estrellas a este hotel. En verdad muy Bueno.

Until Next Time
This resort is hands down the best we have ever been too. From beginning to end the staff are so friendly. Everything is so easy to navigate. The food and service were excellent. You must go to the Mongolian Grill it’s hands down the best restaurant at the resort. We also liked the Dominican Restaurant. We loved the Spa, the ladies who did our massages, manicure and pedicure were both awesome. The spa environment was so relaxing and the coolest place on the resort. We had the best time on our 5 night stay. Only thing is watch out for the people selling on the beach. Especially the foot rub women. Also the only shop near the property that felt honest was the one in the middle and bring cash for souvenirs because card is more expensive. We definitely will be back for longer next time to enjoy the pool and beach.

Upon arrival to the resort the driver will leave you at Aquamarine with your baggage to then be taken in a trolley to Ambar lobby. Check in was smooth. We arrived on a monday and the resort was very quiet. The rooms are a bit musty, given you are in the Caribbean, but overall the room was HUGE! We were in villa 67 right by the pool and beach restaurant. That was a wise choice to make upon check in. We were offered a room with the swim up pool but decided it wasnt fit for us ($40 extra per night) since like to mingle with others, we would have never used that "private pool", seems isolating and that's not the point of this trip. We dined at LIMBO - the best lemon drop martini I have ever had in my life, they forgot the sugar rim thou. The food portions are small but very tasty. We also dined at YURTA - WOW what an experience that was. Their welcome drink is so comforting and soothing. The selection of rice, meats, poultry, seafood and sauces were PERFECTION. I loved the idea of chef cooking your food in the sauces that were super tasty. The hotel itself need a few upgrades compared to the other hotels that we visited in the complex. But overall we had a wonderful time. The entertainment team is so passionate too. They had a saxophonist and acrobat at the pool one night. That was AMAZING, I felt as though I was a Cirque Du Soliel for a bit. The drinks arent as strong as I likes but overall they were decent. They do have top shelf drinks at the additional price.

I liked the staff was very friendly, always speaking and rather quick most times. The dining hall food was always cold, not very appetizing or appealing and often times staff did not return with what we asked for until asking several times. The communication of restaurant booking and location was terrible. The pool should stay open longer as a lot of people enjoy swimming at night. The rooms definitely need updating and some areas of the property.

Overall we enjoyed our stay for the most part. I wouldn’t consider this property a luxury resort as stated since the room weren’t in the best condition but being close to the beach and friendly service made up for that. We also had a few unfortunate interactions with dinner reservations and staff. The language barrier made it hard to communicate. The app is NOT user friendly and made it difficult to schedule dinners/entertainment and made it hard to find times/schedules easily. Overall I would give this resort 3 stars
