6/10 Good

We’ve stayed here before and liked it especially for comfort. This time however the bathroom was not clean and the hairdryer didn’t work in the room. Both were resolved quickly after speaking to reception. Our stay was for 2 nights and during that time both me and my daughter were bitten. By what, I have no idea but seeing as dogs are allowed I can only imagine fleas. Won’t be staying here again, the average rooms hide behind the grandeur of the main building.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful though.

Outstanding
I spend half my life in hotels, and almost times there is something that’s let’s a place down. Not here. Absolutely amazing. Room, bed, bath, shower with actual fast water. Friendly staff good breakfast and very good price. Fresh decor warm and cosy. 10/10 all round.

Very enjoyable one night stay.
Just a one night stay, but everything was good, from service to comfort to food. I would definitely stay again when next in the area.

Avoid! or at least avoid room 254!
Room was cold and sounded like moving furniture all night, bath 'gurgled' periodically, noise from the taps was stupidly loud (not my tap). I was woken up at 4:30 and couldnt get back to sleep. Dinner was probably some of the worst I have eaten in a very long time and for the price was embarrassing. Staff were lovely though and the pool was really nice.

Poor service all around
I stayed here due to electric car charger. Charger accepted payment and turned green to start charging. Went to leave this morning and car was not charged and I have a £70 payment pending. Hotel said it is not their problem.
Service in restaurant also took ridiculous amount of time to be seated. Four staff working but nobody came to reception to assist. I ended up having to go to the bar and ask them to come to restaurant to assist. I won’t comment on the food but would be very interested to have Gordon Ramsey visit and give his expert opinion !

Eaton minor mess
Hotel was very quiet with not many guests which i was normal for this time of year.
Bar food was good but im not sure the eaton mess was worth the money, a small glass filled with cream and some small pieces of meringue topped with 1 strawberry...could do better.
Staff all very friendly, even when i returned and Georgia let me back in the room to find my hard disk.

Check in did not have details from Hotels.com so had to check between systems and then transferred it. Then on checkout questioned whether I had paid, which was all done up front.
