Funky round hotel in a nice location
Overall a fine stay with funky architecture, small but functional rooms, convenient location, very fast valet service, and a nice bar. Check-in is odd as you're forced to sign an agreement to not bring in alcohol of your own (I wasn't really planning on it this particular stay, but what hotel forbids you from drinking your own booze in your room?!). The rooms have balconies but the doors do not open, but no bother as the balconies looked tiny and uncomfortable anyway (the aforementioned agreement also had a clause about a fine if you attempt to open the door and go onto your balcony).

6/10 Good

You get what you pay for
The walls are paper thin and the windows single pane; no issue with the sounds of traffic/the freeway (love that about the city), but hearing everything (and I do mean everything) going on between the couple next door 24/7 was unbearable. The employees all had surly looks on their faces too; I was never really greeted with a smile (from valet outside to front desk to housekeeping).

The affordable place to be
This hotel is a fantastic choice, offering great value compared to others farther from the city. The 30th-floor restaurant boasts an impressive view of southwest Los Angeles and features a happy hour from 5:05 to 7 PM. While the rooms are not large, they are thoughtfully designed. The free wine happy hour is a delightful way to start the evening on a high note. Its location, just five minutes from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, is unbeatable. We’ll definitely be back!

Chic but affordable boutique hotel
Excellent, reasonably affordable chic boutique hotel in Bel Air, off highway 405 (so a straight shot to LAX or easy access to Beverly Hills, etc). Located just by the equally excellent Getty Center, one of LA's top attractions. The hotel is nice and clean. The restaurant on the 17th floor has wonderful views of LA, especially at night and a capable menu. The cuisine is commendable and well prepared in optimal sizes. Good heated outdoor pool and a gym next to it. Highly recommended.

No self parking
Very nice hotel but not quite 5 star because 1) the location causes it to suffer from road noise and 2) there is a mandatory $40/night valet parking charge that came as a surprise.

Perfect Stay
The staff were extremely helpful and polite. Everyone offered excellent service and made great recommendations. Our room was quiet (even though we were on the side with the freeway.

Not impressed as a solo traveller
It was great except for when I went upstairs to eat dinner yesterday at 7-8pm. The lady at the front when I got off the elevator on the 17th floor was extremely rude. She rudely asked me if I was even a hotel guest before letting me sit down & the service was so slow in that restaurant. I was not impressed and felt very unwelcome. Yet the staff was so nice to other customers and did not ask them the question about if they are a hotel guest. I also didn’t receive a receipt or anything at check out they just took my key quickly.

6/10 Good

Used to be better
Checked in and they put us on a low floor without asking about free upgrade. Next day, they moved us, which was good but then that room had issue with casting on tv & dirty bedding, so they had to move us again to another room. You would think they would comp us something for all of the inconvenience of moving rooms 2x but nope. Next issue is the bartender upstairs. He is a gestapo. If you want people to linger and order more drinks and food, you need someone with a better personality that is service oriented. Years ago that restaurant was so sophisticated but new ownership has let it go to pot. Next on the list is the cafe. I understand the girl is pregnant, but she dissappears often. The girl on the weekend is on point and super friendly. So sad to see how far this hotel has come down from its glory years. Its like people just gave up.
