Highly recommended!
It was January and I loved swimming in the heated pool— such a treat! Near the ocean and fun and swanky shops nearby. Great restaurants nearby. This was a wonderful experience— especially for someone coming all the way from Alaska. Loved the roomy room we had with a tabletop work at with two chairs for a coffee tete-a-tete with my husband. Lovely balcony too!

Very Decent Hotel Close to the Cliff and Beach
We have stayed at this hotel half a dozen times over the years. It is good and is close to the La Jolla Cove. It used to be a Best Western when they provided breakfast, which they don't any more. The $20/day parking fee is kind of high.

Midde of the road
We stayed for 3 nights. It was just okay. The overall rating was higher than I think it deserves. The rooms are an average size. Each room has a mini fridge. The bathroom was dated and a little grungy around the base of the tub. The water pressure was pretty bad and the drain was slow. The positive was the lack of water pressure prevented me from being ankle deep in water. We were in room 422. The noise above us was terrible. His jumping and running back and forth. This was at 6am. I had to call the front desk. Now, I understand they can't control who is in what room (kids or no kids). The only thing I wondered is if people reside above that room. I suspect this because at about 8:30 am it sounded like someone sweeping a hard surface floor (not carpet, like our room). Then one day we were there in the evening and there was vacuuming above us. There was a partial ocean view and balcony. You can park on site for $20/day. The pool area was nice-though we didn't swim. There is a common area off the pool area that has coffee, vending machines and a microwave. It was walking distance to most things in the area, as well as the water. It was not bad but I would not chose it again.
