Needs an uplift
We booked a king bed but got 2 double beds that were very uncomfortable &my husband is really tall so his legs were hanging off the bed. The staff works really hard with what they have. The hotel is well over due an update. Once they do get it updated it will be a really good hotel.

Tired resort
It took 45 minutes to check in and our rooms were not ready until after 5 pm. The rooms are old, but comfortable. The buffet food is meh, and nothing is labeled. We were able to reserve one dinner at the restaurant, which was very good, but the reservations fill up very early, even if you get in line before the reservation desk opens in the morning. Hot tub is luke warm. Late check out was not possible. Restaurant employees are friendly.

We’ve been staying at El Cozumeleno for 20 years. We like the small all inclusive vibe. There is a great snorkeling area directly in front of the hotel. Pepe Scuba picks us up right at the pier. The food is always good. Most importantly, the staff treats us like family. They’re very kind, attentive people. The rooms need some updating but for us it’s a very convenient location.

The staff is absolutely amazing. For an AI resort the food was better than other resorts plus there's 5 restaurants off the resort to go eat at within 600 ft if you like. I do think they should have room service available to all floors as it does not state that on the website when booking. Also get mini fridges in all rooms please.
