Disappointed
The front desk service was extremely slow. The staff member frequently left to attend a birthday celebration, leaving her unavailable for extended periods. When she returned, she seemed confused about her tasks. Meanwhile, two other employees were managing their customers, and by the time she finished with me, I had already waited quite a while. She kindly asked if I wanted a room close to the elevator, but the room was on the other end of the building. Our door ran out of battery and needed to be replaced, and we found a roach in the conference room chair. Unfortunately, the food was bland, and the cashiers in the marketplace were slow and forgetful. On our last day, when I wanted to have lunch, the host was unkind. I understand they were understaffed and overwhelmed, but that doesn’t excuse the rudeness. We ultimately decided to leave.

Unwise Mangagement
They were in the process of upgrading the wi-fi. As a result I was awaken early with construction noise and debris . I needed to take a shower when they knock on my door interrupting my sleep. I asked them to come back in an hour. they came back and knocked again in 15 minutes! Hilton should have taken these rooms out of service instead of causing the major inconvenience.

Perfect for family sightseeing in DC
Hotel is in DuPont Circle. 30 minute walk to the national mall. 20 minute walk to the zoo. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are clean and comfortable. We have a very nice stay for a long weekend.

Low Quality Hilton
$25 fee is a complete scam. So sad that Hilton has stooped to this type of con to make money. This is not quality management or service. I heard several foreign guests objecting to it. Such a very bad impression of Hilton. Hilton USED TO MEAN QUALITY. Unfortunately, not any more! Piped terrible music in the lobby, in the courtyard and at the entrance is cheap and tacky. Quiet nature and birds chirping is much more pleasant than the blaring, terrible music playing everywhere. If you MUST play music....very low volume classical or jazz gives a much more quality impression than the horrid din that was playing then entire weekend.

Ok apart from breakfast.
Overall excellent but my issue was with breakfast. The staff at breakfast seemed unable to confirm if breakfast or which breakfast options were included in my room rate. Then the biffet breakfast...I ambused to powdered scrambled eggs but I've never had any which were so devoid of taste. I asked for ketchup and was given a bowl of in hpuse made tomatoe source...which also didn't have much in the way of taste.

Absolutely terrible customer service
The hotel was overbooked. The customer service and communication was horrific. I waited in line for 90 minutes at check in - only to be told they had no room for me and I was being moved to a different Hilton property 27 miles away. I incurred 175 dollars of Uber fees that I was not compensated for - was never apologized to - got no upgrade and it took be 90 minutes to get into the city the next day. In 25 years of work travel this was my worst hotel experience by far.

Would have loved a fridge in room, stairways (emergency egress) are very difficult to find. I would have used stairs v elevators especially during peak times. A conventional coffee maker in room would also be great (keurig) otherwise the rooms are clean, comfortable, a bit on the smallish side, but the hotel is in a very walkable neighborhood with lots of nice restaurants, (the hotel restaurants are pricey and have a very limited menu)

Mostly wonderful
Most of the staff was wonderful - Tes (bellmen - both of them! ), Ronnie (security), Jamar, Silen, Gaimar (Gaiman?), Arthur, the team at breakfast - frindly, welcoming and so helpful. However, one bartender was just rude. Wouldn't acknowledge you, never said 'hello' - acted as if he was doing you a favor. It wasn't just me - he treated all the customers this way. Saturday evening, he was working the Sidelines bar. Friday evening, he was in the other bar. No fridge in the room was a bit of a surprise.
