Average Resort, You get what you paid for
1. Price was affordable for a budget friendly resort. Food and drinks were not included. 2. Poipu, Kappa, Princeville were all a short drive away. Therefore Lihue was a good middle location. 3. Swimming pool area was the second best part of the stay. 4. The easy access to the beach was the best part. One recommendation would be to clean the sand on a weekly basis. There was a lot of debris (burned wood, sharp rocks, etc) in the sand. 5. There were no fun activities and nothing really stood out. 6. The place could use some TLC. a. Roof on shingles were outdated, not matching, and rusty. b. Tiles need to be replaced in broken areas. c. Some grassy areas were really muddy resembling quick sand like feeling. d. Each room could’ve used some maintenance. We found ants and roaches in our room. 7. When checking in they charge you a self-parking fee per day. Most of the days we stayed, the parking area was free/nothing was guarded.

Many pros with a couple of cons.
There were so many pros about our stay and a couple of cons. What a fabulous place! The room was fantastic, the location was perfect, and we had a wonderful and comfortable time there. The television system allowed us to hook up our devices directly to the TV without any difficulty. We used our fire stick in the evenings. Unfortunately, check-in was not great. They don’t allow anybody to check in early unless they pay $100 so everybody showed up at 4 o’clock all at once. We stood in line behind numerous people. Having to wait 45 minutes to check in, is not ideal. There has to be a better way. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. The buffet was $35 a person! We found it much more economical to eat in town. Our room was super comfortable, but we did have a noise that continued for our entire trip. It sounded like an unleveled washing machine or a ceiling fan that was not stable. We learned to drown it out, but it was a bit of an issue. The shower was clean and the water was hot. The water pressure was unsatisfactory. We were really looking forward to getting home and into our shower that has a lot of water pressure.

Disappointingly run down
This is an expensive place, probably because of the nice beach and the pool area. But the rooms and hallways are run down to a surprising degree. When we went for dinner, we were directed to the bar/lounge to eat because the dining room was closed. "We're short-staffed on Sunday and Monday." We ordered bar food, which was good. It didn't feel like a luxury hotel.

The room furnishings and bathroom have seen better days. There is no descent beach area although it is oceanfront. The pool was very nice and the poolside bar with the ability to order food and drinks was convenient and staff was friendly. It’s very close to the airport.

It was a great location and the property was very expansive and beautifully landscaped. The ocean is the backdrop. Very close to shopping and the fern grotto. The food at the hotel was fantastic. The happy hour in shutters bar accompanied by amazing entertainment made for a great evening. The lights at night on the property are magical. Staff are fun and helpful.

The pool area seemed a little rundown needs to be remodeled. Other than that really can’t complain bellhops valet service was very friendly very helpful all in all really nice place. I guess the side of the island on they get a lot of trash from the ocean so the beach is very dirty. But there’s nothing the hotel could do about that. Kawaii is very beautiful hotel is close to the airport. Restaurants are decent on the resort. Definitely would go back again.
