"Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, which was booked to celebrate my 40th wedding anniversary. This was a significant personal milestone, and it was extremely disappointing that the experience was overshadowed by repeated service failures and poor organisation, falling far below the standards expected of a five-star hotel.
My package explicitly included breakfast, high tea, cocktails at the Palace Lounge, ironing of two garments, a one-way airport transfer, hot and soft drinks, access to the business room, lunch, and dinner.
Upon arrival at approximately 2:30 pm, we were informed that lunch was no longer available. At the same time, I reconfirmed our 5:00 am airport transfer and 4:00 am wake-up call, only to be incorrectly advised by reception that the transfer was not included and would incur an additional charge. This was rectified only after I produced evidence of the booking terms. As lunch was unavailable, we proceeded to high tea, which was the only aspect of the stay that met expectations.
Further issues arose when we attended the Palace Lounge shortly before the scheduled cocktail service and were told it was full, with an estimated wait of around one hour. As this formed part of the package purchased, the situation was unacceptable. Alternative arrangements were made only after I raised a complaint.
I also attempted to reserve dinner at Loya for 8:00 pm, but was offered a 10:00 pm seating "
